I will confess without torture that I am a fan of jigsaw puzzles. I had the opportunity to try a few, especially those from the Samsung world. I like the Galaxy Z Fold for its large internal display, I like the Galaxy Z Flip for its compact size. But they have a future, and isn't Apple actually doing good by waiting so long?

There are two form factories, leaving aside the clamshell type, which is still a classic half-body phone after all. For geeks and technology enthusiasts, the second option is more interesting, i.e. the one that gave the puzzle segment its impetus in the first place. It was the Galaxy Fold that was the first flexible phone from a major brand that bent its display so that when you opened it, you had a display area similar to a small tablet.

Who is the target?

But as he states IDC, the tablet market in general is shrinking. During the pandemic, their popularity skyrocketed so that not even a dog will bark at them now, because whoever wanted a tablet already has it and does not need to upgrade it. In addition, as the diagonals of phone displays began to grow, many will also forgive the tablet, because they will be satisfied with just the phone.

Even though the tablets are also sold in their Cellular versions, only a handful of users use them on the go. Most have them for home use, where they replace small phones or clumsy computers, as well as in the office (of course there are exceptions). But on the go, the larger display of the puzzle either doesn't make sense to use, or it's too impractical to use it.

Tell me what and I'll use it that way

For a long time, Samsung was the only major company that offered jigsaw puzzles. However, even Google or OnePlus have jumped on board this train, if we are talking about Fold-type folding devices. Are they successful? Samsung has only now sold all of its jigsaws like it has sold the Note series in its entire history, and we already have the 5th generation here. Rather than immediate success, there is potential in gradual upgrades and in X years to reach a perfect solution (with which Apple may want to come up with the first good one).

When the market is ripe for it, it will start to accept them more, and that will be the time when Apple can also come up with its solution. Or it won't happen either, because the tablet market won't recover and folding puzzles still won't make sense. The future is uncertain in this regard, and perhaps more companies are needed to produce similar devices that give the customer the feeling that they simply need a jigsaw. Although perhaps it would be enough if the numerous Chinese production finally went abroad.
