MobileMe has been the subject of much speculation in recent months. Nobody knows exactly what will happen to Apple's web service. What is certain so far is that MobileMe will see major changes this year, and the first ones are coming right now. Apple stopped delivering boxed versions to brick-and-mortar branches and at the same time withdrew the offer to purchase MobileMe from the online store.
The question is whether Apple just continues to intention move all your software to the Mac App Store and distribute it online, or there's something more behind the changes in MobileMe sales. At the same time, moving the sale of MobileMe exclusively to the Internet would not be surprising, since the so-called retail boxes contained nothing more than an activation code and several manuals.
However, Steve Jobs already previously confirmed, that MobileMe will see major changes and innovations this year, leaving users wondering what Apple might come up with. The most common talk is that the service would be provided completely free of charge, but the question is whether Apple will want to give up its profits. There is also speculation about some kind of storage for music, photos and videos that MobileMe could transform into.
In addition, MobileMe's servers are expected to move this spring to a giant new data center in Northern California, where the most important programs and operations will likely run. MobileMe could also include iTunes and other cloud applications.
We don't yet know how it will actually turn out, but what is certain is that something is really happening with MobileMe, and that's a good sign.

What I understand is that mobileme for users with ip4 is free, within the findmyphone application, born from the user of older models that have a paid application.
Berkoff: I would clarify that if you have an iPhone4, you can activate the FInd My iPhone service on any iTunes Account (not all of MobileMe), if you have an older device, you cannot activate this function. The solution is that someone with an iP4 registers the service for you on your account and you just log into it - so there is such a solution...
I am looking for someone who would be willing to activate the findmyphone service for me since I have a 3GS. If anyone could find it, I would be grateful
FindMyIphone can be activated absolutely free on any device… 3G,3GS,4,IPOD,IPAD…
I don't see much for the free service, so I just ordered the boxed version while it's still available. It's not bad for a little over 1500 crowns. If they start selling it only through the App Store, then it will be a problem for many foreign buyers - in the App Store you can only pay with a US card. But iTunes gift cards are also a solution.
In the App Store, you can also pay with a Czech card as standard. You're confusing it with iTunes. I have it active and I normally buy applications with a Czech card...
We all know that you cannot pay with a Czech card in the US App Store. However, I have no idea how the new Mac App Store works in the case of a Czech iTunes account, because I use the US. You probably have a Czech iTunes account. If the Mac App Store is the same for all countries (why not, since it is now part of Mac OS X), then you can probably buy everything everywhere with any card. Too bad iTunes doesn't work like that.
Jiří: Would you tell me how?
Exactly the same as with other devices. Just sign in to me.com with your iTunes account and have the Find My iPhone app on your iPhone set to that account. I use it on 3G and it works.
An iTunes account is a regular Apple ID that you use, for example, to download applications from the Appstore.
If anyone is interested in US iTunes gift cards, then at http://www.itunesgiftcard.eu Verified Seller…
So just look here in the forum and iTunes gift cards are much cheaper there. ;-)
