MacRumors has published an email addressed to Steve Jobs regarding MobileMe and the future of this web service. Apple's main character responded to the email again very briefly, but we did learn one thing - MobileMe is going to be a lot better in 2011.
A disgruntled user decided to write to Jobs, who uses both the iPad and iPhone 4 to his delight, but is often troubled by the poor functionality of MobileMe. In the email, he pointed out errors in synchronization and others. Jobs' answer was short and clear.
I love my iPad and iPhone 4 and I'm a huge Apple fan. I want to stick to Apple products at all costs, although MobileMe makes me complain a lot. Unreliable and unpredictable syncing, creating duplicates, etc. It's almost unusable.
I know from various forums (including Apple's) that I'm not the only one with these issues. Can you tell me if it will get better soon?
Steve Jobs' answer:
Yes, 2011 will be much better.
Sent from my iPhone
So the future of MobileMe doesn't look so bad. After all, Apple is constantly working on its service and brings various improvements every year. This year, for example, it completely changed the Web interface of MobileMe and made it possible to use the Find My iPhone service even for those who do not pay for the service. We certainly have a lot to look forward to next year. In addition to classic improvements in speed, synchronization and other similar "little things", Apple may be planning something bigger for us.

I wouldn't exaggerate the Apple fandom. What are you waiting for? That Steve writes that it will still have the same errors? Of course he says it will get better. Well, then the media can go crazy…
Totally agree with Cibetik :)
What should he have replied to him? :)))
I'm just waiting to see how distorted and far-fetched this message will be in a few days :)))
… so – by the way – is anyone having problems with MobileMe? I 100% NO. :)
I have no experience, but I am tempted. I'm just discouraged by the similarly mentioned problems, to which was also added slowness, etc. In addition, I lack enough information that I'm interested in, but I don't know where to find it, who to ask. It's done in a classic Apple way - it works as we show you, don't ask more, don't find out, and just use it simply like this. But here I would like to know more before paying the money for it - it is not exactly the cheapest and for that price I would like to at least have my own domain. I guess I'll have to take the plunge and just give it a try, after all there's a two-month trial period. I just don't know if it will take my credit card if iTunes doesn't want it. Hopefully, yes.
Apple will arrange for you to have a home, you have to register yourself here, the cheapest version without hosting is enough. You set a CNAME alias at the provider and enter your domain in MobileMe. Then after entering your address, everything will be reported under your, for example, *.cz domain, but you will have all the data on iDisk in MobileMe. You can put things on the website either via iWeb or manually via iDisk... How HAPPY... This is how my corporate eShop has been running for over a year and a half at a Czech address with data shared with Apple. Description of settings:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1107
It will take a Czech top-up or credit card opened for internet banking (even in the USA you will see an unaccepted VISA Electron - personal experience). But it is possible to activate it here at retailers with a voucher sold on MobileMe.

With a Czech credit card, expect 20% VAT when buying from Apple (trial extension), so it's probably not even cheaper ON LINE.
For me, MobileMe in two years also in one. It's just that I can't open a password-protected PDF file (password for opening) from the MobileMe iDisk space via the iDisk application on my iPad or iPhone. The file loads and a white rectangle appears instead of the content… On a desktop iMac OK
The best improvement would be if it was completely free
finally a reasonable opinion :-D
Great, thanks everyone for the helpful comments. I have a domain, so I'll try MobileMe, look around a bit, and then I might pair it. It just comes to mind - if I would like to have e-mail boxes on my domain e.g. novak.cz e.g. michal@novak.cz, standa@novak.cz, radka@novak.cz – is it okay? Because it's not a problem on normal hosting, and I'd also like to treat it like a family here. I suppose I would continue to pay a fee for the domain, probably something like parking it and then the MobileMe bill.
You can have those emails on your own domain - it depends on the agreement with the local domain administrator (in my case active24.cz).
Otherwise, as part of paid MobileMe, you have an assigned email YOUR_APPLE_ID@me.com . In addition, the price includes the option of 5 different aliases for emails before @me.com. The longer you delay registering a service, the fewer aliases there will be to choose from. Aliases are good if you don't want to identify yourself to someone, you don't have to reveal your Apple ID to everyone.
As a MobileMe veteran, I managed to get an alias mail Apple_iPad@me.com
I don't care about those aliases on @me.com. If I tell ordinary people about the email in the style of "newbie list cz", then it is clear to everyone and they will understand it even without dots and adverbs. I already have to say the address with @me.com in the style of "newbie behind ME dot com" and sometimes explain something in addition. That's why it bothers me and I would at least like to have addresses of my own and not solve it with different redirects, etc.
I can't imagine how I would be able to achieve this by arranging with the domain administrator if I don't have any space on the server for mailboxes. I don't know, I don't understand it, I won't pay anything for asking, so I'll see. But I don't think so.
I have been using it for a year and almost without problems. The only thing that annoys me is that since the last mobileme calendar update, the iPhone calendar is terribly slow. When you tap on the calendar on the iPhone, it will load, but it will show the events only after connecting to the server. Just in maybe 5 or more seconds. Does anyone know a trick to cancel this? How are other aliases made?
Aliases? Via MobileMe settings via the web, see:

Thanks a lot, I found it already. Just loading it. I'd be surprised if I'm the only one :)
I read somewhere that this is a problem with those MobileMe updates. I don't know when they will do something about it. :-(
