WWDC 2023

The WWDC developer conference took place on Monday. Apple presented its operating systems iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14 Sonoma, tvOS 17 and watchOS 10 at it. In addition to software innovations, new Macs were also presented - 15″ MacBook Air, Mac Studio and Mac Pro, and Apple also presented this year at WWDC "One More Thing". It was an AR headset that eventually, despite numerous speculations, bears the name Vision Pro, and which for the time being mostly positive, but also sober reactions.

Final Cut for Vision Pro

We'll have to wait a while for the Vision Pro headset to hit the market, but news is already starting to emerge about what software will be compatible with the device. Matti Haapoja, who had the opportunity to try the Vision Pro at WWDC, said that the device will, among other things, enable editing using a combination of eye movements and gestures. He raved about his rehearsal experience, adding that Final Cut Pro will offer Augmented Reality editing at the time of release. He did not say whether in this case Vision Pro will play the role of an external monitor and input device, or whether we will see a version of Final Cut directly for the operating system visionOS. Not so long ago we got a version of Final Cut Pro for iPadOS. However, the idea of working in Final Cut Pro in the interface of augmented reality certainly looks very interesting.
