IKEA is seen worldwide as one of the best furniture retailers, known primarily for its affordable prices, simple instructions and, in recent years, for its progress in the field of smart home. It has not been the case for years that you can only get ordinary furniture or other equipment in this store, quite the opposite. Today's offer includes a number of interesting smart products that have the potential to make our everyday lives easier. And he probably intends to continue to do so.

If an apple user is building a smart home, it is quite important for him that the products in question are compatible with the Apple HomeKit system. It brings together all products and allows them to be controlled through a single application – Home – to set various automations and more. For this reason, the smart home presented by IKEA is a rather interesting opportunity for Apple fans.

This time, the Swedish giant showed off a brand new and significantly better hub called DIRIGERA, which is the successor to the previous TRÅDFRI. The new hub is to be based on the brand new Matter standard, which was developed by companies such as Apple, Google, Amazon, Samsung and many others. Thanks to this interesting novelty, it will be possible to connect many more devices, of course, including those that are functional with the aforementioned older hub. However, the goal and main idea behind this product, or rather behind that standard, is quite essential. This is to enable seamless connection of various products into one smart home, even across platforms, including Apple HomeKit. Additionally, IKEA mentioned the arrival of their redesigned home management app.

IKEA promises significantly easier use and greater efficiency from the DIRIGERA product. But that's not so much the point in the final. Rather, it is very interesting to see how this furniture chain uses the opportunities of today's times and works at a relatively brisk pace to expand its own smart home, which already offers a number of interesting pieces today. As we already mentioned in the beginning, the most important thing is the support for Apple HomeKit. Moreover, this is not the first time we hear about the company's progress. Last month, the giant announced five new products in the form of lighting, blinds and others.

Availability

In conclusion, it is still necessary to mention one thing. Although the DIRIGER hub looks quite solid, we will have to wait for it some Friday. It will enter the market only in October of this year, which also applies to the aforementioned redesigned application for managing the IKEA smart home.
