Things around Apple are gaining unexpected momentum in the Czech lands. Two years ago, Apple finally opened a direct representation here, this year the official localization of the system into our native language appeared. Last week, the Apple Online Store was opened for the Czech Republic...
... and on September 28, 9, the Czech iTunes Store was launched at night!
Tomas Klus is the first Czech singer to have a link to his albums on the front page of iTunes.
After launch, foreign artists appeared in the top ten, but in less than a day names like Lucka Vondráčková, Daniel Landa.
If you logged in to your Czech account yesterday, new license conditions appeared, which you will find (in this article (below).
The prices are the usual – 0,99 euro per song and 9,99 euro per album. We have already confirmed that it is possible to buy music, e-books are not available yet. (Updated: they are already going.)
Apple prepared a small gift for the Czech Republic (and probably for other newcomers to iTunes). 5 songs from the band's album are available for free Coldplay.
We will continuously update the article. If you discover something interesting, contribute your bit to the discussion, send us a screenshot of your screen.
Which song did you buy first?
Updated 8/10:
A week after the start, it appears in the top ten songs Midnight, which he uploaded Vaclav Neckar and the group Umakart. It is the second best-selling title in records sold Music for the film Alois Nebel.
Hello, I wanted to download the Coldplay EP from the beginning, but after a while I got the message "An unknown error occurred (5002)... so nothing :/
Try restoring iTunes.
it does the same thing on my PC, I can't download anything. I can't do it on iPads either... maybe in time :-D
Well, it was with a card, I had it without a card and as soon as I added it, the free album could be downloaded and it no longer threw the error
Darmoděj from Nohavica. Full album ;-)
Purchased and am downloading primo on my iPhone. And it works without problems.
Well, I downloaded queens. Evanescence. I already had both, but I bought it. I will continue to buy my favorite bands whenever they come out. But I'm not going to pay for such instant radio quick leavens.
Otherwise, enough albums are for €5,99 and hot songs for €0,69.
They still go to buy books and video clips (they are probably related to music). For now, I don't see the book store in the main menu, but you can get to them through the search.
Otherwise, I have to congratulate Apple, we finally have a service that allows me to stop buying CDs with music through Amazon, and I also like the album prices lower than Amazon.
Such detail: iTunes STORE launched. Which of course is great news. It probably won't be right away, but I'll definitely use it.
And how is it actually with drm on itunes? If I buy some music there, will I be able to listen to it somewhere else? I think I need to use another player and in Linux.
the music has been DRM-free for about 1,5 years, so it will be fine to play elsewhere
I'm sorry that we don't have the option to buy series and movies….
Films were previously mentioned in the new iTunes terms and conditions, so theoretically they should also appear in the foreseeable future... maybe
I would be very happy for that.
There is no mention of iTunes on apple.cz yet, so it is probably still being worked on...
Of course, nothing is officially known. I would guess at noon, when the official news comes out.
I don't know, the music store is fine, but isn't it better to download it for free, e.g. via Torrents? Because everything can be downloaded now.
If there is no difference in quality…
Don't stone me now.
of course, it's possible. another option is to rob a cdc store. it will come to you even cheaper and faster, you don't have to wait for it to be downloaded. you just take and go or write and run. Now seriously. yes, music can be stolen, from now on you can also buy it legally...
they are CDs that are unnecessarily expensive and there is nowhere to download them. E.g. Battlefield Band – CD in CZ for approx. 500,- (+ postage), CD in UK for 12 pounds (approx. 330 + postage) or anything from their discography for 10 euros on iTunes – don’t take it :-))
For not downloading?
warez people tag stupidly or not at all (*)
requested music is on iTunes, not in stores, not on Warez :-)
in some cases quality
availability – ease of download, sometimes earlier than on Warez
(*) about the radio dance edit version of ware, he claimed that it was a radio edit... and vice versa (later I bought the original from the respective single on ebay
Save your ironies, I didn't ask for those. =))
And don't call it stealing, I wouldn't believe you never stole anything in your life...
This is the best news since the collapse of the i-legalne.cz server. Everyone can choose whether to buy or not to buy, and finally there is the opportunity to choose.
Does it seem completely unnecessary in our country to pay 25 CZK for a song?! As Tom wrote, at a time when one can download it for free. And robbing a CD store isn't the same as downloading music from torrents. Nothing disappears when downloading.
And what is the quality? if it was Apple Lossless, it would be SUPER. Otherwise, in CR it is legal to download mp3s from anywhere and there is no need to buy them directly on iTunes. In CR, there is nothing illegal about downloading mp3s from ulozto.cz. No theft, it's legal. The lossless codec would have added value. TZN QUESTION ZNI: is it possible to choose the quality???
256 kbps quality, AAC encoding, DRM-free.
But, of course, something will disappear - and that's unrealized sales revenue for musicians and labels. Which is not OK even if composing, recording and releasing records was free (as it is not). The fact that downloading is legal in the Czech Republic is a fact, but it also does not mean that it is morally correct and that the existing legal regulation is not somewhat out of line in this regard. The current state of affairs is certainly to blame for the publishing houses, which slept through time and did not offer online music shopping before people got used to buying it from the Internet for free. The opening of the Czech iTunes Music Store is significant in that it gives an OPPORTUNITY. Those who want to buy music online no longer have to spend money on gift cards at the American iTunes Music Store or buy CDs (which they put on the shelf after ripping). Of course I'm not Mr. That's right, and I have both downloaded and purchased music in the American iTunes Music Store (via gift cards) and also now in Czech. But 25 CZK per song is a ridiculous amount, no one here can say that they "can't afford it". And if someone really doesn't have it (even though they have a computer, an internet connection and an iPod/iPhone), there's a radio ;o)
...all Czech content in the iTunes store is without diacritics. :( Well, now I realized that I don't use it either. :))) Does anyone know the reason why it is not in diacritics???
I have no idea why some things don't have diacritics and others do. But I've already come across an artist who had a diacritical mark in his name on one CD and not on the other.
I think that it is simply not possible to add diacritics to some letters in itunes, while others can...
feel free to put ř, á, ľ in the song title - something works, something doesn't
maybe it's so that they don't cause problems (creatures instead of letters)
…yeah and what did I buy first? The album Divokej Bill last selection UNISONO is at a great price. :)
I would like to point out one thing to people. The music download doesn't work the same as the app… I mean download again. If, for example, I buy an album on my iPhone and after a while the same album on my iPad, I pay for the album again and not, as with the application, that it is only downloaded. Apple refunded my money, but they warned me that there will be no refund. Hopefully it will change over time and it will be the same as with the application.
Purchased music on the phone can of course be synchronized to the computer and other devices...
iCloud and it's been installed for a long time :)
Since it comes out even cheaper in the US Store, I still stick with it. But I am very happy about this for CZ. when the dollars are not loaded, they will serve well. :-)
Can I download free songs with iTunes if I have registration without a card?
No. You need to enter your card number and then you need to login to your account.
I'm logged in on my iPhone, do I have to log in on my PC as well?
It didn't work for me, neither on iPads under different accounts, nor on 2 different PCs. Only when I added the payment card did it work right away. Both iPad and PC. So free albums cannot be downloaded without a card born from the application. I downloaded them until now and I didn't have the last card registered. Well, Apple already got me and knows the card now, so I'll probably release some crowns in time :-D
I want to ask, I have an iTunes account, but a US address. So this doesn't concern me now? And I could buy music even before that?
Yes, you could buy music even before that.
And if I change my address to the Czech Republic, will I be able to pay via our cards (credit)? Because now I only have an iTunes GiftCard
My first Swedish House Mafia-Miami 2 Ibiza , the picture and music quality is good, I'm quite satisfied.
Please, could they also activate Ping? It would require an article on how to break it down, I would be very happy for something like that where I put my favorite artists on there and it alerts me or at least it will be on the main page that a new album has been released
Well, this is thick, finally after years of begging and persuading Apple, I'm finally excited in the Czech Republic, I hope that soon we'll buy an AppleTV as well. I applaud... And a free album is a good move :) at least you can try how it works for free :)
Hi, I have a small question: D:D I bought music via iPhone, but no matter how I search, I don't have a purchased tab anywhere so that I can download it on the iPad too... when I click directly on the Purchased link in iTunes on my PC, I only have purchased apps there and books... is anyone else like this??
I can see purchased items on my iPad in the iPod app under "purchased". It will probably be in the same place with the iPhone, I guess, I don't have an iPhone...
Yes, they are there too, but it's an iPod, I won't download them from there again... I'm talking about Purchased, similar to what you have with applications in the appstore... according to Apple it should be there, but I can't see it anywhere
What can I say… wow. After years of waiting it's here…. Thank you
With a price policy of 1$=1€ .. Apple can go and bury itself .. and I was rooting for it .. Epic fail ..
The prices are the same as everywhere else in Europe.
And nothing will be written about the iBooks Store?
Does anyone have a guide/tip on how to upload your work to iTunes?)))
Tunecore.com
Hi!
Please advise me, I want to transfer the US iTunes account to a CZ account so that I can keep the purchased apps.
But I have a problem, I tried to change the country, but it tells me that I have credit there, which I have to spend first. That wouldn't be a problem ;) but it's $0,71…
Thanks for the advice on how to do it!
look after the beatles album: http://itunes.apple.com/sk/album/the-beatles-box-set/id402060584
complete discography for 11 euros
...please, someone explain to me why some albums have VIEW written on the button instead of the price? I can't seem to get enough of it, thank you.
Hello everyone! I have a question, not long ago I bought a few songs of one album on iTunes, later I decided to buy the whole album, during the purchase the option popped up that I could add this album for a discounted price, but when I clicked on this option nothing was downloaded, and the payment did not go through. If you can let me know if the problem is only in my iTunes or if someone has the same problem.
