You're riding your bike like this and suddenly your pocket rings and a familiar sound tells you that you've just received a new text message! What now?
You know it?
Should I see what's going on? If you're one of those impatient people like me, your curiosity won't let you and you try to pull your iPhone out of the side pocket of your tight jeans while driving. You steer the bike with only one hand (at best), you lose your balance and a car passes right next to you.
If these lines remind you of something, believe me, you are not alone. What he needs is bicycle mobile phone holder and such that you will have your iPhone right in front of your eyes while driving. And that's why we decided to describe the impressions of using an iPhone holder that you can buy HERE.
It is a product made of solid plastic that can be easily attached to both the front frame and the handlebars of a bicycle, and your iPhone can then be easily attached to its body. The holder is compatible with iPhone versions 4, 3GS and 3G.
The plastic construction consists of two parts. From a circular bicycle holder to a practical plug-in iPhone holder. Thanks to the circular grip on the top of the holder, the phone can be rotated 360° around its axis - so you can choose to rotate the phone horizontally or vertically.
Even though the manufacturer has saved quite a bit on the top part of the plastic, thanks to the ingenious mechanism, the iPhone is more than firmly held in the holder. When I had the opportunity to test it in practice, it showed no signs of falling out even in the most demanding terrains.
Now that we have solved the problem of reading text messages while riding a bicycle, I would like to describe other advantages of such a device.
Thanks to various applications, you can easily turn your iPhone into an elegant new generation speedometer thanks to this holder. Not only can you use classic built-in gadgets such as GPS navigation and route planning, but in cooperation with some handy application for measuring and recording journeys, such a holder becomes an invaluable collaborator in the field of motivation and monitoring of individual rides.
When I went to test the holder for the first time in the local meadows and groves, I couldn't stop thinking about how much better the overall feeling of driving is when watching all the data from various applications measuring your current sports performance.
I would like to mention here and especially praise the application RunKeeper, which can monitor the overall progress of the trip in great detail. Already while driving, it displays basic info such as the number of kilometers traveled, average time per km, number of calories burned, etc. But most importantly, immediately after the end of the activity, it synchronizes the data with its online web environment. In it, it not only displays the basic information from the iPhone application in a clear graphic manner, but above all it can show the complete route of the route (Google Maps), including speed and elevation down to the level of individual meters traveled. And best of all, this app is absolutely FREE.
The only problem I registered while using this holder was that if it starts to rain, there is nothing left to do but snap the iPhone out of the holder and shove it quickly back into the pocket.
Pros
- Firm grip, almost zero chance of the phone falling to the ground
- The ability to rotate the iPhone around its entire axis
- Ability to control music / read SMS while driving
- Ideal for using your phone as GPS navigation
- Use of driving monitoring applications
Cons
- A waterproof case would be nice
- The iPhone is understandably harder to control while driving

I personally wouldn't put my phone in something like that on my bike. Even so, if someone only drives on the road or paved road, but otherwise not by accident... This is something else: http://thephold.com/
But I understand, it's a paid advertisement and I have nothing against it :)
I wouldn't like to dig, but isn't it a little sad that a person can't even ride a bike without constantly talking on the phone and responding to text messages? I just turn off the sounds, throw the phone in my bag and that's it. I have a little shuffle for music (don't worry, I hardly ever drive on the roads) and Garmin for GPS. And I always check the SMS at the first car in a calm state :)
Agree with jiripavlik. I also don't need to be on income all the time. If I'm just on my bike and someone calls, the tribute has to wait.
I like the given thing quite a bit. Not cool sms and calls, but just like you say on gos things. Unfortunately, I don't have a Garmin, so it would probably come in handy. However, I don't understand why we have to overpay the price of dealextreme 87 with a postman by more than 200 crowns.
I also had this bike holder, when I jumped off the curb, the iPhone came loose and broke into several pieces (
I definitely recommend BikeMount for iPhone by http://www.ThinkBiologic.com. It is closable, waterproof and detachable-portable. I use it for my bike (RunKeeper), exercise bike and motorbike (Navigon) and for reading and in the bath. It can be controlled beautifully through plexiglass. It also fell off my bike a couple of times, but because I didn't have it properly latched. But it is beatable and nothing happened to the iPhone. Works for both 3G/S and 4.
Bikemount is really great for the bike, but it won't fit in the bathtub. I tried submerging it (empty, I'm not an iPhonovrah) in water and it's really not waterproof :-) But otherwise it's the best bike phone case I know
The one you don't have to buy for the 3gs is made of two parts and the iPhone looks like it, I broke my iPhone like this and besides, the holder won't hold anything
that Matous: do you have more holders for it or do you keep changing the one with the tape?
It has one holder in the standard delivery. I can order another one. I took two extras (motorcycle and exercise bike).
I've had the holder for about a year, and after dropping the 3GS on the ground, I only fix it with rubber to prevent loosening!
Well, it's an advertising article... But I would never buy something like that. If the iPhone won't cost 16000 Kc, but you need 3 kc, then maybe some file more substantial. But that phone has no back protection at all. I ride on the road and paved roads and my bike is still "polished" from mud, dust and scratches, from reflected pebbles, etc.. Regardless of the risk of falling. Or just put the bike on the ground faster and do nothing about it, or hit a stove, a pothole in the road, go down a bollard faster. According to the test, most municipalities the cover just about protects the iPhone when it is dropped on the ground. it would be deadly when riding a bike. I would give the memo IP a 50 percent chance that it will last at least a week. :(
meant curb, not bollard :D
I have to disagree a bit here. I bought the holder here already last summer and so far the iPhone has stopped everything without any problems. I drove through quite challenging terrain and even crashed once, and the iPhone always stayed in the holder. So if you are not going to do acrobatics while riding or jump off cliffs, I think the percentage chances of falling out of the mount are somewhere around zero.
This brat is one big misunderstanding. I think that an armband would serve the purpose much better, preferably from the offer of the above-mentioned store. You wrap it around the stem and the iPhone is in sight, but not too protruding and does not lean on it. In combination with the corners, it doesn't restrict me in any way on a mountain bike, and I've already ridden it a couple of times.

I would be afraid of the constant knocking, I drive almost every day, but I have my phone tucked in the back of my pocket and the RUNTASTIC PRO application running, but it would be nice to have it in the front.
So I'll join too. In February 2010 I bought this (http://www.sunnysoft.cz/zbozi/124PHR-029/sh-drzak-pda-apple-iphone-3g-3gs-24891-0.html) holder for iPhone 3G. The good thing about it is that you buy a holder for whatever you want (bike, car, etc.) and then just toss your iPhone wherever you want.
I use it very often on the bike, I even washed it out a few times, but the iPhone is still fine. I never had a problem with it falling out, because the holder has a foam that keeps the iPhone in place even after a year and a half of use.
Just to add - a discount has just started on this holder - http://megasleva.cz/akce/1459/drzak-na-kolo-pro-iphone-4-3gs-3g
