Apple's Sacramento campus to expand significantly (7/12)

Apple is preparing to convert its warehouse in Sacramento into a logistics center that should employ up to several thousand new employees. The exact function of the center is not known, but the room plans are similar to the equipment of other technology companies, which in their centers provide spaces for employees to exercise, do yoga, as well as medical centers and dental offices. Apple is also in talks with the city council to expand mass transit, which would make it easier for employees to commute to the new location on a daily basis. Apple sells Lightning headphones more expensive than the iPhone (December 8)

The removal of the 3,5mm jack from iPhones may still be a long way off, but more and more headphones with a Lightning connector are starting to appear on the market. One of them are the headphones of the company Audeze, which started selling the EL-8 Titanum model on the Apple Store, which can be purchased for almost 800 dollars (19 crowns), i.e. 750 dollars more expensive than the 150GB iPhone 16s.

The so-called Cypher cable opened up new possibilities for headphones - Audeze built a digital signal processor, D/A converter and amplifier into it. Thanks to these new features, the headphones can play music in full quality, which the 3,5mm jack has always held back a bit. The EL-8 model is actually the most affordable in the company's collection, and along with the headphones, customers also get a cable with a 3,5mm jack.

Tim Cook joined a campaign to help children with cerebral palsy (December 8)

Apple CEO Tim Cook joined a host of celebrities to record a short message for the Foundation for Children with Cerebral Palsy. In a video filmed in a canteen in Cupertino, Tim Cook mentions the importance of diversity for development not only at Apple, but also says that this includes people with disabilities. Immediately after that, he starts a conversation with Siri by saying "Hey Siri" and the voice assistant asks how to start talking to a person with a disability. Siri answers him: "It's simple, just say ahoj. "

Apple's effort to make its products accessible to customers with disabilities was also praised by the National Federation of the Blind, when its president let it be known that Apple has done more for accessibility than any other company. Siri, which often makes using the iPhone easier for the disabled, first launched on the iPhone 4S in 2011 and now serves users in both CarPlay and the new Apple TV. Other accessibility features include AssistiveTouch, text dictation and reading, or Switch Control, for example.

ASUS and LG struggle with Apple's new cover (10/12)

Shortly after introducing its first battery-backed cover, Apple received a barrage of criticism and ridicule from the public. The cover design seems ugly to most, and ASUS and LG were quick to capitalize on this in their new campaign. On a poster with the slogan "Would I buy an extra load?", ASUS points out that even with an extra battery, the iPhone 6s is still behind in terms of battery life - the ZenFon Max lasts 12 hours longer when talking and two hours longer when playing video and surfing the Internet.

On its banner for the V10 phone, which charges to 50% in just 40 minutes, LG again alludes to the ugliness of the cover with the tagline “No bumps, just goosebumps,” a pun on “No bumps. Just goosebumps”. Whatever the new case looks like, the iPhone charges automatically and its battery status can be seen in the Notification Center, two enticing features.
