Apple continues the advertising campaign for its new set-top box, introducing viewers to the "future of television". That's the title of the ad, which showcases various content that can be played and played on the new fourth-generation Apple TV.
The advertisement is in the same spirit as the previous campaign, so in colored vertical stripes, reminiscent of old television sets, we can find short shots of series, films or games that can be found on Apple TV.
Apple chose The Simpsons, Stephen Colbert's The Late Show, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black or Game of Thrones for its latest commercial. From films, he bet on the new Martian, Grandhotel Budapest, Ant-Man or the animated film In the Head.
Of course, there are also samples from games like Asphalt and Guitar Hero, which is a key aspect of the new Apple TV, and Apple Music, including Siri.
so it doesn't actually show anything
movies and series that everyone has seen and that can be played on any TV or computer
and then a GUI where a person runs an application on the grid and controls what he launches... that is, something that has been around for a long time from the competition
I wouldn't say it's the future of TV, like writing... REALITY
but come on, apple makes nice ads. it's a pity that they don't make such nice, high-quality and innovative products anymore... today, if a person wants to taste the future of a bit of wood, he has to look elsewhere than apples
I don't know how to say it, I don't want to say that Apple is the only one and great and it's always subjective, but it's about small details. I wouldn't deal with Apple's populist talk, which it practically has in every advertisement, but I certainly wouldn't take it lightly, for example, no one believed him in the iPad segment either, and where are tablets today? I will not discuss the fact that, for example, the competition is further along in something.
Let's take a simple example. I bought a Samsung TV to play content from a disc, display content from a laptop, etc. Although it can practically do the same as the AppleTV 4th generation and it did it a year earlier, but the control, the functionality of some things that practically change with every TV firmware upgrade (and even 180 degrees). For example, the TV was showing the last movies played, then an upgrade came and instead of the last movies played from the disc, YouTube suddenly sucked the most played videos, which I really didn't need and I couldn't find where to switch it back. It also does not support 5GHz WiFi. It supports the DLNA protocol quite strangely, some videos will play, some won't. I don't know, I guess I can't use it... There aren't many applications, yes, there are some training and streaming ones, but what can you cram into 1GB of space (I didn't find that you could choose). The ability to connect other controllers is also zero if one wants to play games. It is true that it is bad to connect a keyboard and mouse via USB and better control a browser that also supports HTML 5, but on 2.4GHz Wifi, which is heavily disturbed in the barracks and does not support a popup blocker...
Then there is Chromecast, and I have no experience with it, it could shake up the market, or other players may enter this segment, or smart TVs may improve even more, in the end, all manufacturers could influence each other and we will all make money.
as we say in our company, if you don't know how to say it, don't say it at all :) (in other words, shut up)
Samsung TV is primarily a display, i.e. a thing with a display. if we are going to take devices equivalent to appleTV, then they must be consoles or chromecast devices, or miniPC devices, and there the situation is much better than you describe.
as for the samsungTV itself, I have it too, and the problem, as you say, will be that you can't use it
but if I go back to the comparison, and take a typical console, then play absolutely everything there, faster, and as far as games are concerned, even better
if you have disabled wifi, I understand, maybe I would say from the middle class and you don't normally worry about it, because they didn't live in a slum or a flooded block of flats like sardines, anyway, if you don't have that luck yourself, then 5GHz will probably come in handy, maybe in that case maybe he'd better save up and throw the money file into the piggy bank so I can move
in any case, I envy you your worries, and that some viewer on the TV doesn't have a popup blocker... oh well, someone really lives :)
It's a nice saying, but I'm not afraid to be a fool, I like to learn and broaden my horizons, and unlike you, I don't need to be anonymous and I don't need to chase a shirt, but that's your fight... I just want a constructive debate and not You're a complete moron... I admit , I guess I want too much…
You see, and I, a dumb user, thought that SamsungTV was trying to be something more. In that case, I don't understand why applications can be installed in it, if it's only supposed to be a stupid display and why things like skype, browser, etc. are put there.
I agree with the consoles, I just think their primary purpose is somewhere else, just like the SamsungTV is just a "display", so the console is primarily for playing games, although it can do more, I'd say the ATV is trying to shoot down the middle. Or have the consoles moved to the center as well and I overslept? I admit that my experience is most recently with the PS2…
Hehe, do people in the slum have WiFi? This is new to me, in the last slum I was in they didn't even have a toilet and they defecated in front of the shack into the canal, but a slum isn't like a slum, right? It bothers the middle class around me quite a bit, although honestly it depends how you define middle class, doesn't it?
Honestly, I have completely different concerns, this is just such a "shoe", I am simply interested in people's opinions. The popup blocker in the browser is good, for example, when playing videos in HTML5, which Samsung manages so that no advertisement runs every 10 minutes, nothing more, nothing less, and I thought that the TV was made to play any video... I'm an idiot...
you know what, today if your TV is supposed to be able to display things from the web, i.e. calculate codecs, it needs performance and if you have that performance, of course you can do extra things...like enabling basic applications
in any case, the AV source is still primary, and the TV is only used as a display
it's like a Nokia phone for 800 crowns. primarily it can make calls and send SMS, but you can also use the browser and email on it. and nokia is definitely not paving the way with these phones by making communicators for 800 hundred... it's simply added value, which costs almost nothing extra, so why not do it :](they don't make skype and similar applications, only java jre and conversion are there is banal)
and you see, with those consoles you suddenly get the hang of it :}, so you're not as stupid as you claim to be... normally someone who grasps more slowly is said to be tougher, but since I don't know myself, I wouldn't dare say that about you. it will probably not even be a topic of discussion and article
From my point of view, it just seems that
1/ apple fell asleep (amazon, google, console are on TV)
2/ it doesn't offer anything that people who want it don't already have (videos see point 1, there are consoles for games that have special peripherals and much higher quality games)
3/ from the technical side, it doesn't stand out at all
4/ the price is not competitive either
so,..like any product, even a phone from alcatel, will find its buyer, so certainly this one. but it's not a big hit (if it didn't have an apple logo, not even a dog would follow it)
Apple TV is a completely different matter, it's like music and iTunes, since I'm not a thief and everyone who does good work deserves to be paid for it, so I feel it's a moral obligation to simply buy music. Apple TV is intended primarily as a movie rental and store, the rest is added value...
so you don't have to wait for it and you can work on o2 or X other services that make it possible
But doesn't a nokia for 800 NOK say "Samsung" like a cow on the packaging and in slightly smaller letters "Quad core processor" or should it be "Dual core"? It doesn't matter how you brag about how fast it is.
apple sees it realistically, it's primarily for movies and series
secondary to games, but it will not compete there, so it cannot even push in that direction. (the device does not have the performance or the support of the developer and the driver, and in order to have it, it would have to cost 5-6 times as much, given Apple's margins, and then it would not be able to compete on price...so it's a vicious circle
but realistically I see what I described above. it has a processor, so games will run on it... but of course primitive and ugly, without the need for special controls. primarily it will only be a movie and a series and nothing else - and all of this under the direction of Apple, i.e. an ideal mega-closed system where you don't connect anything from a PC, you don't stream, you will have to buy everything from iTunes and if you want to switch to Google or Amazon in a few years (you only need to watch TV) so you'll have fun :}
it's just bullshit, but what, I'm not buying it, I don't care
I'm not arguing with you about the games, although in a way I appreciate the return to the days when developers had one iron and had to make the most of it, which gave rise to games that were not only about graphics, but also playable (read, I stayed with them longer like an hour) on the other hand, the developers don't have full OpenGL, but "optimized", although I haven't really seen what it can do, anyway, I agree that games like FarCry won't be there (I don't know new graphic bombs). Also, Apple's requirement that the game be controllable on AppleRemote is way back and quite limiting, as is the maximum size of 2GB. On the other hand, I saw Galaxy On Fire, Asphalt 8 on it and it wasn't that primitive, but as I say, a person used to hi-end games, I understand that it seems primitive to him. On the other hand, the casual player will be satisfied.
Fortunately, as far as streaming is concerned, these days it is able, thanks to applications, to stream and decode movies from the NAS, so one is not so dependent on Apple and perhaps this is what I would expect from a SmartTV, you know where my games are...
In any case, my goal is not to convince you, although it may not seem so, rather I was interested in your opinion, I would like to hear a different opinion, if it has a head and a heel and is not just a cry, which also appear here relatively often. Thanks for the discussion and one more thing, next time I would ask for a little less scathing remarks about my inteylency, not that I'm being picky about it, but it lowers the level of conversation and besides, we didn't herd the sheep together :-)
so my smartTV streams quite nicely from a PC with Windows, but with Apple you never know if the application that allows you to do this will not be banned... otherwise it is clear that someone else wrote this last comment to you, because it has both a head and a tail :)
but now it's important, when you wrote today — "it's not about stupidity or stupidity, I just looked at it through "your eyes" — so I laughed so hard and praised you in my heart that it's exactly the style of insult/non-insult which I like so much :D
