In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Apple indirectly confirmed the Apple Store in Prague

At the beginning of last year, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met with Apple CEO Tim Cook in Davos, Switzerland. During their conversation, the Czech Apple Store was also mentioned. From now on, local apple growers are enthusiastically observing all the events surrounding this situation and hope that the first Czech apple store will grow in Prague. Subsequently, however, we became witnesses of grave silence. The Apple Store has stopped being talked about, and the latest information comes from last fall, when Andrej Babiš said that the Prague Apple Store is still in the works. We recently received new information from Apple itself. And finally we (probably) got it!

Apple itself has published a very key one on its website advertisement. They are looking for a manager for the Prague retail branch, but they are not located here for the time being. Of course, the recruitment of Czech employees takes place quite regularly and is nothing special. But now it is the first ever ad falling into the Apple Retail category, which is related to retail. The very requirements for the job reveal that it should be an Apple Store. The person must have experience in managing and developing a store, performing various tasks, communicating information about apple products and services, motivating a team, and more. Language skills are also a requirement, where one must be able to speak fluently in English and Czech. Domestic apple lovers can start celebrating slowly - the Apple Store is heading to the Czech Republic.

The job offer itself was published only on August 21, 2020. So it is clear that we will have to wait for the official opening of the first Czech Apple store some Friday. For now, the location itself, where the Apple Store could "grow up", is a big unknown in the whole equation. In which location would you most like to see an apple store?

Update: Although our Prime Minister also reacted to the whole situation on Twitter, when he shared an article confirming the construction of the Apple Store and wrote that the Californian giant is looking for employees for the Prague Store, so the truth may be somewhere else. With a brand Apple Store because Alza came years ago. In short, there is a high probability that we will not see an official apple store.

We know the exact performance of the upcoming iPhone 12

Soon we should see the official presentation of the new generation of the iPhone 12. So far, we have had the opportunity to see a number of different leaks and information that gently revealed to us what we can theoretically look forward to. Currently, TSMC has also joined the "discussion". This company completely covers the creation of apple chips and at the last symposium outlined the performance of their upcoming processors and what the future will be.

The Apple A14 chip, which should be in the aforementioned iPhone 12, will be manufactured using a 5nm manufacturing process. For comparison, we can mention the A13 model from the iPhone 11, which offered 7 nm. Already in the past, we could see how much smaller chips can add to the performance. But TSMC has now published the exact data, revealing the performance of the upcoming flagship. In the table attached above, we can see a comparison of the N7 and N5 chips. We can expect to find the N7 in the iPhone 12 and the N5 in last generation. The newest addition to the family of apple phones should offer up to 15 percent more performance and 30 percent lower energy consumption.

Tim Cook once again donated money to charity

The CEO of Apple could undoubtedly be described as a philanthropist. It's no secret that Tim Cook regularly donates some money to charity. According to the latest information, last week Cook donated Apple shares worth five million dollars, i.e. roughly 110 million crowns. At the moment, however, it is not known to which charity the director of the apple company donated this money.

It could be said that this is already such a tradition. Every year in August, Cook donates shares worth around five million to some charity. In an interview in 2015, he also confided that he wants to regularly donate the majority of his fortune and thus set a systematic approach to philanthropy as such.

Apple may have bought virtual reality startup Spaces

Modern times have brought with them a number of great gadgets. In recent years, augmented and virtual reality has been enjoying the spotlight, which in many cases can help us or keep us entertained. According to various reports, Apple itself should also be working on various projects with virtual reality, and if you regularly follow the events surrounding the apple company, then you certainly did not miss the praised Apple Glass headset.

Protocol magazine recently came up with very interesting information. According to him, the Californian giant has allegedly bought the startup Spaces, which deals with the aforementioned virtual reality. The company Spaces itself recently announced on its website that it is ending the development of its current product and is about to go in a new direction. Unfortunately, we did not receive more detailed information. Who or what is Spaces anyway? Originally part of the giant DreamWorks Animation, they created a perfect virtual reality experience that people could try out in various malls across the United States. For example, we can cite the title Terminator Salvation: Fight for the Future.

Due to the global pandemic, of course, all branches had to be closed, to which Spaces responded immediately. They created the perfect service for video conferences like Zoom, where users could join the conference rooms themselves in virtual reality together with their stick figure. Whether Apple actually bought the company is unclear for now. However, virtual reality definitely has a lot to offer and it would definitely not be a step aside.
