It is probably not surprising that artificial intelligence is everywhere. It was first started by chatbots on mobile platforms, Google then showed many interesting functions with the Pixel 8, and now in January Samsung also joined with its Galaxy AI in the Galaxy S24 series. Apple will not be left behind. They gradually leak informace, what to look forward to with him.

Texts, summaries, images, translations and searches - these are the main areas of what AI can do. It was the Galaxy S24 that showed the Circle to Search function, which Samsung collaborated with Google on (and its Pixels already have this function), and which is used in such a way that you just mark something on the display, and you will learn everything you need about it. Apple has its own search, which it calls Spotlight, so it's obvious that AI will have its clear power here.

Spotlight can be found in iOS, iPadOS and macOS and combines content searches on the device as well as on the web, the App Store and actually everywhere else where it makes sense. However, as it has now leaked to the public, the "new" Spotlight will contain large language AI models that will give it more options, such as working with specific applications and other advanced functionality with regard to overall more complex tasks. Additionally, this search should learn better and more about your device, about you, and what you actually expect from it in return.

There is more, much more

Another option that Apple is planning is the integration of AI into Xcode options, where artificial intelligence will facilitate the programming itself with code completion. Since Apple then bought the iWork.ai domain, it is certain that it will want to integrate its artificial intelligence into applications such as Pages, Numbers and Keynote. Here, it's practically a must for its office suite of applications to keep up with Microsoft's solution in particular.

That Apple's revolution in terms of AI integration is approaching is also indicated by its behavior. In the course of last year, the company bought 32 startups dealing with artificial intelligence. That's more acquisitions of companies working with or on AI than any other current tech giant has made. By the way, Google bought 21 of them, Meta 18 and Microsoft 17.

It is difficult to judge when and how quickly individual solutions will be implemented in devices. But it is certain that we will have the first preview at the beginning of June. That's when Apple will hold its traditional WWDC conference with the introduction of new systems. They could already contain some news.
