The expectations of apple lovers have really come true - yesterday Apple presented the brand new iPhone SE 3rd generation. At first glance, however, we will not see any changes. The Cupertino giant bet on the same well-known design, originally the iPhone 8, but added improvements that are hidden, so to speak, under the hood. The two main changes to the new Apple phone consist of the deployment of the powerful Apple A15 Bionic chip, which also beats in, for example, the iPhone 13 Pro, and the arrival of 5G network support. During the actual presentation of this news, Apple did not miss certain changes in the field of camera.

The iPhone SE 3's rear camera still relies on a 12MP wide-angle sensor with an f/1,8 aperture and up to 2020x digital zoom. Looking at the specifications of the photo module itself, we will not find any change compared to the previous generation from XNUMX. However, as we know Apple, this does not necessarily mean that the camera has not moved forward a bit, on the contrary.

The camera benefits from the capabilities of the A15 Bionic

As already mentioned above, Apple used the latest mobile chipset Apple A3 Bionic in the new iPhone SE 15, which unlocks a number of new capabilities for the phone. In the field of photography, the mobile phone can use the processing power of the chip itself, which makes it happy with Smart HDR 4, photo styles or Deep Fusion. But what can individual technologies actually do?

In particular, Smart HDR 4 can recognize up to four people in the frame and subsequently automatically optimize contrast, light and skin tones to achieve the best possible results. As for Deep Fusion, this gadget is activated in medium to low light situations. The technology can analyze pixel by pixel across a range of exposures to render the finest textures, patterns and details – again in the best possible form. Finally, we must not leave out photographic styles. With their help, for example, you can intensify or dim the colors in the scene, but this has a minor catch. Naturally, we do not want these changes to affect the photographed people as well. For example, skin tones could look very unnatural, which is exactly what these styles take care of.

Similar to the iPhone SE (2020), the current generation also benefits strongly from its chip. Thanks to this, Apple can save on the use of an older sensor, the capabilities of which will still be significantly expanded in the final. The whole thing somehow fits into the concept of the SE phone as such, or a cheap iPhone with current technologies.
