Apple is slowly but surely finalizing the iOS 17.2 system update, which is supposed to bring several other interesting functions to our iPhones, the most important of which is the Journal application. But now the company has released the 4th iOS 17.2 beta and it reveals more news. But not all of them are pleasing.

Default notification sound

V Settings and section Sounds and haptics you will find new Default notification. These allow you to choose the sound used for all incoming notifications, in addition to the standard ones, such as SMS, new mail, calendars, etc. This is exactly what many users complained about after updating to iOS 17, and Apple will now finally listen to them.

Saving to an external device

For the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models, ProRes video can be recorded directly to an external device, i.e. an external drive. iOS 17.2 beta 4 includes a new pop-up message that lets users know that external recording isn't working because the USB-C cable connected to the iPhone is too slow. However, there was previously a warning about the external storage not having a high enough write speed to support external recording, so now a cable speed message is added. There is, after all, considerable controversy among users, because USB-C is not the same as USB-C.

Coverage will change

Don't you know what Coverage is? We're not surprised, it's a rather unclear translation. When you go to Settings -> In general -> Information, so here is the offer Coverage you will find It simply and simply informs you about the warranty of your device, i.e. whether it is still entitled to it or not. Apple renames the section in the original to AppleCare & Warranty.

The end of iTunes?

Maybe not yet, but definitely soon. iTunes as a brand is gradually declining, but Apple is deliberately behind it. In the 4th beta of iOS 17.2, there is a code that informs about the planned cancellation of the ability to buy TV shows and movies right in iTunes. This will move to the TV application. The code literally reads: "You can buy or rent TV shows and find your purchases in the Apple TV app."

Apple Music and playlists

While shared playlists were available in previous iOS 17.2 betas, with the 4th beta, Apple removed the option. Therefore, the function is probably not yet ready for a sharp deployment in the system, and therefore we cannot look forward to it being part of a sharp update.
