Today, several changes took place in Apple's broader management, which relate to the operational position of computers, human resources and Apple University. The company has seen a large number of VP and higher-ranking boxes filled over the past year, and this year will apparently be no different.

Rita Lane, Joel Podolny and Denise Young-Smith

Rita Lane, who was in charge of managing the operations of the iPad and Mac division from the position of vice president, is retiring. She has worked at Apple since 2008 and Apple has not yet announced a replacement for her. Information about the departure emerged from her LinkedIn profile. He is not the first high-ranking employee of the company to head for retirement. The VP of iOS engineering left last year Henri Lamiraux and earlier also departure he announced Bob Mansfield, who, however, eventually for a time returned, although already does not belong to the closest leadership.

Other changes are more cheerful. Denise Young-Smith, previously vice president of international retail stores, has been promoted to the brand new position of head of human resources. Until now, this has been held by Joel Podolny, one of the key figures of Apple University, an educational institution for the company's employees. Podolny will now fully concentrate on the university and continue to work on its expansion. Apple issued the following press statement regarding the change in the head of human resources position:

We are excited that Denise Young-Smith will expand her role to lead the international human resources organization. Apple University is an incredibly important vehicle within the company as we grow, so Joel Podolny will be fully focused on developing and expanding the university he helped found.
