Over the weekend, quite interesting information circulated around the world about the fact that Apple is going to change the appearance of the rear photo modules of the iPhone 16 Pro, while the leaker who was the first to come up with the information immediately showed a possible new form. Whether or not he was right with his prediction of the appearance of the photo module will be shown only in September and the official presentation of the news, but perhaps even more interesting than what the camera of the 16 Pro series will look like is what actually prompted Apple to make the change. After all, in the past we were used to the fact that major design changes usually went hand in hand with changes at the hardware level, which led to a distinctive camera as such. But this time, you probably can't quite expect that.

If you ask why this is, the answer is relatively simple. In the corridors, it is beginning to whisper more and more loudly that Apple resorted to the redesign of the camera of the iPhone 16 Pro simply because it was forced to do so by the redesign of the camera of the basic iPhone 16. This will change the arrangement of the lenses from diagonal to vertical, hand in hand with the remodeling of the square rear projection into a vertically oriented oval. Apple could have gone the route of returning to the appearance of the photo module from the iPhone 12, but this is apparently out of the question precisely because it would repeat itself in terms of design and thus to a certain extent admit to a bad judgment with the photo module of the 13, 14 and 15 series.

And it is the relatively drastic redesign of the iPhone 16 camera that is very likely the impetus for Apple to change the design of the iPhone 16 Pro camera in a certain way. That's because the Pro series is a flagship for him and he can't quite afford to stay the same for a second year, even visually, while the cheaper iPhone 16 would change visually. And what are we talking about, for many Apple users, the appearance of their phones is the alpha and omega when choosing, so the redesign of the camera can also be the driving force for sales as a result, as it will again be something new, hitherto unseen and therefore quite tempting. Unfortunately, however, it must be added in one breath that if the redesign is really deployed primarily to keep the 16 Pro series in line with the basic iPhone 16, you can't quite expect an outright leap upgrade of the cameras. Respectively, the camera of the iPhone 16 Pro will definitely improve, but it will most likely not be because Apple will definitely deploy a different type of rear photo module for this model series.
