Apple Watch has been considered the king of smartwatches since its launch. In short, it could be said that with this product the giant hit the nail on the head and got people a device that can noticeably make their everyday life more pleasant. The watch functions as an extended hand of the iPhone and thus informs about all incoming notifications, messages and phone calls. So you can have an overview of everything without having to take out your phone.

Since the launch of the first version, the Apple Watch has moved forward quite fundamentally. In particular, they received a number of other great features that advance their overall capabilities. In addition to displaying notifications, the watch as such can handle detailed monitoring of physical activities, sleep and health functions. But where will we move in the coming years?

The future of the Apple Watch

Let's therefore shed light together on where the Apple Watch could actually move in the coming years. If we look at their development in recent years, we can clearly see that Apple cared about the health of users and optimized individual functions. In recent years, Apple watches have received a number of interesting sensors, starting with an ECG, through a sensor for measuring oxygen saturation in the blood, and even a thermometer. At the same time, interesting speculations and leaks have been spreading in the apple-growing community for a long time, talking about the deployment of non-invasive blood sugar measurement, which would be a completely revolutionary innovation for people suffering from diabetes.

This is what shows us the direction Apple is going to take. In the case of the Apple Watch, the focus is mainly on the health of users and the monitoring of sports activities. After all, this was previously confirmed by Tim Cook, the executive director of Apple, who appeared on the cover of an issue of Outside magazine in early 2021. He gave an interview in which he focused on wellness and health, i.e. also on how apple products can help in this direction. It is of course more than clear that the Apple Watch in particular dominates in this regard.

What news awaits us

Now let's focus on what news we could actually expect in the coming years. As we mentioned above, the expected sensor for measuring blood sugar is getting the most attention. But it will not be a completely ordinary glucometer, quite the opposite. The sensor will measure using a so-called non-invasive method, i.e. without needing to perform an injection and read the data directly from a drop of blood. Conventional glucometers work in this way. So, if Apple were to succeed in bringing an Apple Watch to the market with the ability to non-invasively measure the concentration of glucose in whole blood, it would literally please a large number of people who are addicted to monitoring.

However, it doesn't have to end there. At the same time, we could also expect a number of other sensors, which could further strengthen the capabilities in the field of monitoring health and health functions. On the other hand, smart watches are not only about such sensors. It can therefore be expected that the functions and hardware themselves will improve over time.
