Christmas Day is fast approaching, and some of you may be expecting the desired iPad with Apple Pencil under the tree. The first launch and subsequent use of apple products is really very simple, but you may still find our guide on how to start using a new apple tablet useful.

Apple ID

One of the things you need to do right after you launch Apple products for the first time is to sign in to your Apple ID - you'll be able to sign in to a range of Apple services, sync settings across your devices, make purchases from the App Store and much more. If you already have an Apple ID, simply place the relevant device next to your new tablet, and the system will take care of everything. If you don't have your Apple ID yet, you can create one directly on your new iPad in a few simple steps - don't worry, your tablet will guide you through the entire process.

Useful settings

If you already own some Apple devices, you can set up sync settings, contacts and native apps via iCloud if needed. Your new iPad will also offer you the option of backup using iTunes, another useful setting is the activation of the Find iPad function - in case your tablet is lost or stolen, you can remotely locate, lock or erase it. The Find function also lets you make your iPad "ring" if you misplace it somewhere at home and can't find it. If necessary, you can also activate bug sharing with developers on your new Apple tablet.

Essential apps

After starting the iPad for the first time, you will find that your apple tablet already contains a number of native applications for planning, making notes, reminders, communication or perhaps working with documents. Depending on what you'll be using your iPad for, you can also install plenty of third-party apps from the App Store—streaming apps, your favorite email app, tools for working with videos and photos, or even an e-reader app. books, if native Apple Books would not suit you. We will discuss useful applications that you can install on the new iPad in our next article.

The user interface

With the arrival of the iPadOS operating system, the user interface of apple tablets offers a little more customization options - for example, you can add useful widgets to the Today view. Controlling the iPad is really simple and intuitive, and you'll get used to it quickly. You can organize application icons into folders - simply drag the icon of the selected application onto another. You can also move application icons to the Dock, from where you can access them quickly and easily. In Settings, you can change the wallpaper of the desktop and the lock screen, as well as the elements that will be displayed in the Control Center of your iPad.

Apple Pencil

If you found an Apple Pencil under the tree along with your iPad this year, the best thing you can do with it is unpack it and insert it into the Lightning connector, or attach it to the magnetic connector on the side of your iPad - depending on whether you got the first, or the second generation apple stylus. Once the corresponding notification appears on the display of your iPad, all you have to do is confirm the pairing. You can charge the first-generation Apple Pencil by inserting it into the Lightning connector of your iPad, for the second-generation Apple Pencil, just place the stylus to the magnetic connector on the side of your iPad.
