In just a few days, we will see the official full version of iOS 12. The latest system for Apple mobile devices will bring a lot of news, among the most interesting of which is the support of third-party navigation applications within CarPlay. So if you're one of those people who doesn't like Apple Maps, you can celebrate - and if you're an avid user of Waze, you can celebrate twice.

The Waze application just came out with a new update, which includes integration with CarPlay for iOS 12. For now, it is a test beta version, so we most likely cannot count on it in the first official release of the iOS 12 operating system, but it is still great news no doubt. The said update is currently only available to beta testers and the official release date is not yet known. On Twitter, Waze promised to integrate with CarPlay within a few weeks. Although the official announcement of the release date has not yet taken place, it can be assumed that it will be in October.

Integration with CarPlay would certainly be welcomed by many fans of Google Maps. Although the application appeared during the presentation at June's WWDC together with Waze, however, is silent on the footpath regarding any promises. Sygic app for offline maps recently she showed screenshots to users as an example of what its integration with CarPlay might look like, according to the server 9to5Mac but there was a delay in app approval process for App Store.

A new version of the CarPlay API allows app developers to create custom map tiles overlaid with standard interface controls. This is an acceptable compromise for both developers and users - developers are given enough flexibility to create applications without affecting users in any way.

The release date of the full version of iOS 12 was set for Monday, the new operating system will run on all iPhones compatible with iOS 11. Another big news, in addition to the expanded integration with CarPlay, is also the new function of Siri shortcuts, compatible applications will be gradually added to the App Store.
