Apple today introduced a whole range of news, from AirTags locators, over second generation Apple TV 4K, brand new M1 iMac and also the brand new iPad Pros, which will offer a lot, including an M1 processor and a mini-LED display in the larger of the two models. It also had a fairly significant price increase, which, in combination with the new maximum capacity, is at the level of very well-equipped Mac(Books). Has Apple gone too far?

If you currently click on the highest specification of the new 12,9″ iPad Pro in the configurator, the counter stops at 65 crowns. That's a pretty extreme price, even though you get a (supposedly) top-of-the-line mini-LED display with excellent specs, 790TB of super-fast internal storage, Thunderbolt 2 support, and much, much more. Due to the focus of this model (especially in this size), it is also possible to add a Magic Keyboard (new also in white) and Apple Pencil 3nd generation. However, if you do so, the less than 2 thousand suddenly becomes almost 66 thousand, and this can already seem like an astronomical amount for "just a tablet".

After all, it is possible to have several other Macs for this price. Sure, the iPad Pros are aimed at slightly different customers with different needs, but the prices of the new Pro models are really high, and the question is how much more Apple intends to raise them. Yes, the very top configurations are probably also a bit pointless, because for example the maximum capacity of the internal memory will really be used by only a fraction of professional users - especially with super-fast connectivity in the form of the Thunderbolt interface and support for 5G. Even without top memory configurations, however, the prices of the new iPad Pros are really high. Is this really such a unique machine that it has to cost more money than the much more capable (especially due to the limitation of the operating system) MacBook Pro? For creative individuals, wouldn't a cheaper, newly introduced iMac with a graphics tablet, for example from Wacom, be worth it? How do you view Apple's pricing in the case of iPad Pros? Are the novelties worth the prices at which they go on sale?
