It's only been a few months since Apple changed the world in its own way. He introduced the very first Apple computers, which he equipped with Apple's own Silicon processors - specifically, these were M1 chips, which you can currently find in the MacBook Air, 13″ MacBook Pro and Mac mini. At the Apple Keynote, which is currently underway, we saw the expansion of Apple's computer portfolio. A while ago, the new iMac with the M1 processor was introduced.

At the start of the presentation, there was a quick summary of how current Macs with M1 processors are doing - simply put, well. But Apple went straight to the point and without unnecessary delay presented us with a brand new iMac with Apple Silicon processors. In the introductory video, we could notice the constellation of optimistic pastel colors in which the new iMacs will come. There is a large piece of glass on the front of the completely redesigned iMacs, but we can also notice narrower frames. Thanks to the M1 chip, it was possible to completely reduce the internals, including the motherboard - this free space was then used much better. The M1 chip is, of course, much more economical than "uneaten" Intel - that's what Apple called the previous processors - and thanks to this, it is able to operate at lower temperatures and thus ensure enormous performance for a long time.

The display of the new iMac has also grown. While the smaller version of the original iMac had a diagonal of 21.5", the new iMac has a diagonal of a full 24" - and it should be noted that the overall size of the machine itself has not changed in any way. The resolution is then set to 4,5K, the display supports the P3 color gamut and the brightness reaches up to 500 nits. It goes without saying that True Tone support is used to fine-tune the white color, and the screen itself is coated with a special layer that guarantees zero glare. Finally, the front camera has also received an improvement, which now has a 1080p resolution and better sensitivity. The new FaceTime HD camera is, like iPhones, directly connected to the M1 chip, so there can be a huge software improvement of the image. We couldn't forget the microphone either, specifically microphones. The iMac has exactly three of these, it can suppress noise and generally manage to record a better recording. The performance of the speakers has also been increased and there are 2 bass speakers and 1 tweeter on each side, and we can also look forward to surround sound.

As with other Macs with M1 chips, the iMac will start up almost instantly, without any lag. Thanks to the M1, you can work calmly in up to a hundred tabs in Safari at the same time, in many applications the iMac is up to 85% faster thanks to the mentioned processor, for example in the Xcode, Lightroom or iMovie applications. The graphics accelerator has also been improved, which is up to twice as powerful, ML is up to 3x faster. Of course, it is also possible to run all applications from the iPhone or iPad directly on the Mac, so in certain cases you do not need to move from the Mac to the iPhone (iPad) or vice versa - this is a kind of instant Handoff from the iPhone. Simply put, everything that happens on your iPhone automatically happens on iPhone—better than ever.

As for connectivity, we can look forward to 4 USB-C ports and 2 Thunderbolts. Also new is the power connector, which has a magnetic attachment - similar to MagSafe. Of course, new keyboards also came with the new seven colors. In addition to the corresponding coloring, we can finally look forward to Touch ID, the layout of the keys has also changed, and you can also buy a keyboard with a numeric keypad. Anyway, the Magic Trackpad is also available in new colors. The price of the basic iMac with M1 and four colors starts at only 1 dollars (299 crowns), while the model with 38 colors starts at 7 dollars (1 crowns). Orders start on April 599.
