That is also why a total of 23 Apple applications have appeared in the App Store, from where they can be downloaded again.
Apple did not mention this news during the keynote at WWDC, so it is not clear, for example, whether the option to delete Mail or Calendar signals that it will finally be possible to change the default applications in iOS as well. But we should know everything in the coming days.
The list of applications that can be deleted in iOS 10 can be found on the attached image or on the Apple website. Messages, Photos, Camera, Safari or Clock applications, which are too closely linked to other system functions, will still not be able to be removed, as he suggested Tim Cook this April. Craigh Federighi, head of iOS and macOS, appeared on John Gruber's "The Talk Show" podcast, where he explained how "deleting" system apps will work in iOS 10. Federighi revealed that in fact, only the app icon (and user data) will be more or less removed, as the application binaries will remain part of iOS, thus Apple guarantees the maximum functionality of the entire operating system.
This means that re-downloading system apps from the App Store, where they appear again, will not result in any downloads. iOS 10 only returns them to a usable state, so the moment you click on the cross to delete the system application, the icon will only be hidden.
Given these facts, the possibility that Apple could distribute updates to its applications through the App Store beyond normal iOS updates seems to be falling.
