One essential one was completely omitted in today's two-hour keynote at WWDC new in iOS 10, which will be welcomed by millions of iPhone and iPad users. Apple has decided to finally offer the option to delete system apps. Up to twenty-three of them can be deleted.
For example, if you don't use the system Calendar, Mail, Calculator, Maps, Notes or Weather, iOS 10 won't need to hide them in the "excess" folder, but you'll delete them straight away. That is also why a total of 23 Apple applications have appeared in the App Store, from where they can be downloaded again.
Apple did not mention this news during the keynote at WWDC, so it is not clear, for example, whether the option to delete Mail or Calendar signals that it will finally be possible to change the default applications in iOS as well. But we should know everything in the coming days.
The list of applications that can be deleted in iOS 10 can be found on the attached image or on the Apple website. Messages, Photos, Camera, Safari or Clock applications, which are too closely linked to other system functions, will still not be able to be removed, as he suggested Tim Cook this April. At the same time, the availability of system applications in the App Store will allow Apple to issue more regular updates.

Craigh Federighi, head of iOS and macOS, appeared on John Gruber's "The Talk Show" podcast, where he explained how "deleting" system apps will work in iOS 10. Federighi revealed that in fact, only the app icon (and user data) will be more or less removed, as the application binaries will remain part of iOS, thus Apple guarantees the maximum functionality of the entire operating system.
This means that re-downloading system apps from the App Store, where they appear again, will not result in any downloads. iOS 10 only returns them to a usable state, so the moment you click on the cross to delete the system application, the icon will only be hidden.
Given these facts, the possibility that Apple could distribute updates to its applications through the App Store beyond normal iOS updates seems to be falling.
It's likely that these apps will also be able to be updated without having to update the entire system.
Hell, with the camera, I would immediately switch to a different default app, unlike others that suit me the most.
Well, that's very nice, a few unusable apps to delete, so there will be more space :)
"photo booth" completely unnecessary...
There will be no other place, just the icon on the desktop will disappear.
When I remove the calculator, it also disappears from the bottom bar. Then I will be able to get someone else's right?
From what I heard, this feature is announced as a revolutionary new iOS 11…
it's a little game about deleted apps. They actually stay on the phone, just the icons disappear…
It's nice that the icons on the desktop will be hidden and that there will be even more gay smileys. But you still can't open a password protected pdf as an attachment in iOS Mail. It fascinates me that no one cares.
This is how I get my bank statements and open them.
It is strange. I'm also getting statements, but iOS does show a paper clip, but then the e-mail looks like it doesn't have any attachments.
