At the end of the keynote, to the great enthusiasm of all present, the Irish quartet U2 performed on stage for the invited journalists a new song from the album that fans have been waiting for for five years. However, the keynote did not end with the last notes of the song, Tim Cook returned to the stage, where he and frontman Bono exchanged a few funny dialogues.
In an apparently prepared conversation, Bono asked if Tim Cook could give the new album to as many people as possible in five seconds. Cook responded that they have iTunes for that and that he would be happy to do so if he could provide the album for free. The result is that the album Songs of Innocence is available for free to all iTunes users, i.e. those with an Apple ID account. So just log in, open iTunes and download the entire new album for free.
The album contains 12 tracks, including the opening track The Miracle, which U2 performed live on the keynote. You can find it in iTunes here. It will automatically be added to your downloaded items, so you need to visit the page to download it Purchased (below in the footer), where you can find the album in the tab Music. You can do the same on iOS in iTunes, only Purchased is located below More in the bottom navigation. Songs of Innocence otherwise it's officially released on 13/10/2014, it's really only free for iTunes users. U2 has a long history with Apple, from the charity brand Product (RED) after the special U2 edition of the iPod, this exclusive offer should not be surprising.
"Purchased" lights up in iTunes, but I don't have anything in the music app, thank you very much Apple, another successful event after the broken keynote with Chinese commentary.
It can be downloaded normally
First ask Rumcaj and then curse here.
On the very first page in the iTunes store, scroll all the way down and tap "purchased" in the titer menu
No matter how much I want to click on purchased in the titular menu on my mobile phone, I still can't do it.
As Cenich writes, I don't see any problem with it - click on purchased on the main page and download, it goes without any problems.
Well, logically, it's overloaded, try it later.
see more: Just click "Show purchases from iTunes in the Cloud" (you can find it in iTunes preferences, store tab). Then it loads itself into iTunes and via the cloud icon (cloud) it is downloaded to the hard drive, otherwise it goes directly from the cloud.
Your link under HERE does not refer to iTunes, but to tuaw.com. ;-)
Thanks, fixed
Minor inaccuracy: There are 11 tracks, the twelfth set is a booklet :)
(And they made me really happy with that album, I was quite afraid of what the new record would be like. And it's really good. It was a long wait from POP.)
Somehow the mit o can't be downloaded. Message: Your computer is not authorized. …
Any advice on how to authorize it? We are logged in to iTunes
Has anyone managed to download the booklet as well?
Yes, it downloads with everything else, it's in PDF.
I don't understand how to download it, I'm logged in (I've already downloaded a few songs from itunes, but I can't with this one) "purchased" lights up and that it's in iCloud - in the library in purchased, but there's nothing there, not even what was there before... . Does anyone have a similar problem??? I can just play a short sample. (I have itunes on my macbook.)
I have exactly the same problem :-(
front page of the iTunes store > on the far right of the Quick Links page > Purchased > and find it there and click on the cloud to download all the tracks
In order for what Jana writes to appear and to be able to download it without problems, all you have to do is click "Show purchases from iTunes in the Cloud" (you can find it in iTunes preferences, store tab). Then it loads itself into iTunes and via the cloud icon (cloud) it is downloaded to the hard drive, otherwise it goes directly from the cloud.
