After exactly three weeks of closed testing within developer programs and two beta versions, today Apple is releasing the first public beta versions of its new systems iOS 12, macOS Mojave and tvOS 12. The new features of all three systems can thus be tested by anyone who signs up for the beta program and own a compatible device at the same time.
So if you are interested in testing iOS 12, macOS 10.14 or tvOS 12, then on the website beta.apple.com log in to the test program and download the necessary certificate. After installing it and possibly restarting the device, you can update to the new software in the system settings, or in the case of macOS through the appropriate tab in the Mac App Store.
However, keep in mind that these are still betas that may contain bugs and may not work correctly. Therefore, Apple does not recommend installing systems on primary devices that you use daily and need for work. Ideally, you should install betas on secondary iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs. You can then easily install the macOS system on a separate disk volume (see instruction).
If you want to go back to the stable version of iOS 11 after a while, then just follow the instructions in our article.
I would like to ask how it looks with the navigation here. I had the first and I have the second developer beta and there is a problem that it takes a long time for the navigation to catch on. Of course, Waze is unusable, Apple maps don't show much, and even Pokemon GO seems like it's bad. So I wonder if it has already been fixed here. Thank you.
Hello, I'm signed up for public beta testing and still not offered to update to iOS 12. I have iOS 11.4.1
iPhone X, when I downloaded the developer version of iOS 12, the navigation (NAVIGON) was unusable, but within a few days it stabilized and now it works fine. I do not know how it happened. ?
