Viture is a name we sure hope to hear more about. Viture One is the current Kickstarter hit, which aimed to raise only $20 to fund its gaming glasses, but raised $2,5 million. It clearly surpassed even the Oculus Rift, which debuted here six years ago.

The Viture One project was supported by over 4 people, clearly attracted by the way the manufacturer presents its smart glasses for mixed reality. They actually look like ordinary but stylish sunglasses, which are available in three colors – black, blue and white. They were designed by the London design studio Layer, which is responsible for the design proposals for Bang & Olufsen.

So how do these glasses work? You simply put them on and you can stream games to them, for example from Xbox or Playstation, there is also support for Steam Link. The appropriate controllers can then be connected to the glasses, i.e. both those for Xbox and Playstation, etc. In addition to playing games, you can also consume visual content with them, as they integrate services such as Apple TV+, Disney+ or HBO Max. Support for 3D movies is also present.

For owners of the Switch console, there is a special attachment combining a docking station and a battery. In addition, there is also multiplayer, so it is not a problem to compete in the given titles with another player who also owns these glasses.

The most important thing is the display

Viture claims the image quality from the glasses surpasses any VR headset. The combination of lenses here creates a virtual screen with a resolution of 1080p, and the pixel density is said to correspond to the Retina display of MacBooks. If true, it could be truly revolutionary in the gaming world. After all, the same as in the case of watching movies and videos.

There are also two display modes, i.e. immersive and ambient. The former fills the entire field of view with content, while the latter minimizes the screen to a corner so you can see the real world through the glasses. There are also speakers aimed at your ears. A certain reputable company is supposed to be responsible for them, but which one, Viture did not reveal.

There is also a special neck brace that contains the control panel. All the elements did not fit into the small glasses after all, even if they are not necessary for the operation of the device. The entire solution then runs on the Android operating system. The base, i.e. just the glasses, will cost you $429 (approx. CZK 10), while the glasses with the controller will cost you $529 (approx. CZK 12). They are supposed to start shipping to customers this October.

It all looks incredible. So let's hope that this is not just an inflated bubble and the glasses will really come to fruition and what's more, they will really be what the manufacturer promises them to be. Meta AR glasses are due to arrive in 2024, and of course Apple's are still in the game. But if the future of similar solutions could look like this, we wouldn't really be angry. The future may not be so bleak after all.
