iPhone 13 could offer LiDAR even in the cheapest configuration

Last year brought with it a number of great innovations. One of them is undoubtedly the LiDAR sensor, which first appeared in the iPad Pro and was subsequently implemented by Apple in the more advanced iPhone 12 with the designation Pro. DigiTimes website now comes with the latest information. They learned from their sources in the supply chain that Apple is going to deploy the mentioned LiDAR sensor in all models of the iPhone 13 generation, thanks to which even the cheapest model of the series will receive it.

At first glance, this sensor looks quite inconspicuous and may seem unnecessary to some. But it is a significant support for the device itself when working with augmented reality, it can instantly create a 3D model of your surroundings up to a distance of five meters, improves portrait images and can even instantly measure a person's size. Moreover, its implementation makes sense, and if we look into recent history, we come across an almost identical scenario in the case of displays. Even with the iPhone 11, OLED panels were exclusively reserved for the Pro and Pro Max models, while the ordinary "eleven" had to make do with LCD. But that changed last year, when even the iPhone 12 mini, as the cheapest part of the series, received a Super Retina XDR display with an OLED panel.

Kuo talked about Apple's upcoming products

This year, we are undoubtedly expecting the introduction of several apple products. Of course, we can look forward to some new iPads, Apple phones from the iPhone 13 series and the like. But according to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, we definitely have something to look forward to. Apple is about to introduce a number of great devices, among which the localization pendant nicknamed AirTags already stands out.

AirTags concept (AppleInsider):

AirTags pendants should primarily help the user to find his personal items such as keys and the like. Everyone should have an overview of these things directly on their iPhone or Mac, for example, in the Find application. Kuo continues to mention the arrival of an unspecified augmented reality device. However, there has been talk of a smart headset or smart glasses for several years. But for now, nothing is clear and we will simply have to wait for the answers. It is necessary to mention that we could include an ordinary iPhone or iPad in the same category, because these are also products that work with augmented reality.

Apple M1: The first chip from the Apple Silicon family

From 2021, we can of course expect the arrival of several different Macs that will be equipped with a chip from the Apple Silicon family. In this direction, everyone is impatiently waiting for the Cupertino company to surpass itself. The first Mac with an M1 chip offers incredible performance. But people expect the inclusion of an Apple chip in more advanced machines such as the MacBook Pro 16″, where we could encounter even greater performance. It is still expected that a 16″ MacBook Pro will follow the example of the mentioned 14″ “pro” which will also slim down the frames, thanks to which it will bring an inch larger display in the same body. Again, it should be equipped with an Apple Silicon chip. At the same time, in recent months there has been quite a lot of talk about the new, 12,9″ iPad Pro with a Mini-LED display. It is already clear that Apple definitely has something to offer. Which product are you most looking forward to?
