The MacBook Air, a thin and light elegance from the Apple stable, has not enjoyed too much attention from the Cupertino company in recent years in terms of updates. In October 2016, Apple officially ended the production and distribution of its eleven-inch version, and speculations about the end of the entire series began to multiply. But this year, things took a different turn.
Same but better?
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities is among the experts whose predictions can mostly be relied upon. It was he who recently stated that we will most likely see a new and cheaper MacBook Air this year. He even predicted his arrival in the spring of this year. The price was not mentioned by Ming-Chi Kuo, but it is assumed that it should not exceed the current price of the MacBook Air. What does this mean for those who are planning to buy a new laptop in the near future and want to choose Apple?
Among other things, the release of the new MacBook Air could be a great opportunity to upgrade your hardware. Last June, Apple slightly improved its Air series MacBooks in terms of processor, but unfortunately the laptop's display remained completely unchanged, as did the ports that the computer has.
A favorite classic
Even years later, the MacBook Air is very popular not only among those who often work on the go. Its minimalist design and thin and light construction are especially highlighted. For many users, it is a symbol of the time just before Apple started removing popular elements such as the MagSafe connector or the 3,5 mm audio jack.
Even today, there are many people who do not care about the latest features and functions, such as the Touch Bar or the fingerprint reader. Many users, on the other hand, are satisfied with "legacy" inputs for peripherals or computer power, such as the aforementioned MagSafe connector. The target group of the MacBook Air, which would theoretically receive the relevant improvements while maintaining the weight, design and elements that Apple has changed in other MacBooks, would therefore not be exactly small. The new MacBook Air has the potential to become the "good old Air" with better hardware and a price that won't be scandalous. So those who are considering buying a new Apple laptop and are embarrassed by the current offering, it is definitely worth waiting - and hoping that the new MacBook Air does not disappoint them.

It doesn't make much sense to me with the existence of a 12" MacBook.
And so they are the users who are comfortable with the more ports and other features that the Air now has, I have the MB12 myself, but I would also appreciate it occasionally.
The question is rather how this new product would actually look and how much it would cost - it would make sense with a slightly better display (perhaps FHD), retaining some classic USB and a reader, etc. And as for the price, they say "the same as the current Air", but there is already enough of a difference here, if we mean the theoretical list price or the current real price, which is significantly lower (for example, with the basic Air model, the difference between these values is almost 5000).
I'm a little worried that in reality the display will improve, but the endurance will decrease and the ports will only be two USB-C and the price will be slightly above the list price, which would not be very attractive. But who knows, sometimes there might be a pleasant surprise :-)
