Apple introduced a completely new generation of Apple Watch smart watches. They bear the designation Series 2 and bring useful elements that will be appreciated especially by athletes. The original version of the watch was not forgotten either. This is now updated with a faster processor and named Series 1.
After today's keynote, there is no doubt that Apple is primarily targeting users with their watches who are close to various fitness and physical activities. Apple Watch Series 2 is made especially for them. The first thing is the built-in GPS module, which eliminates the need to carry an iPhone with you during sports.
Although for many it will mean a certain freedom from another device, no notifications, calls or messages will be delivered to users due to this absence. The new generation of watches still does not have a mobile connection. For example, when jogging, the GPS module definitely comes in handy.
Another element that swimmers will especially appreciate is the water resistance. Apple has equipped its new product with a waterproof box that can withstand a depth of up to 50 meters, which is a common swimming standard. The only hole he couldn't blind was the speaker, which therefore works by pushing the water inside out on its own after getting out of the pool.
Swimmers will also welcome a new algorithm that allows you to set whether you are swimming in a pool or in open water. Watch Series 2 can then measure laps, average speed and automatically detect the user's swimming style. Thanks to this, it measures calories more accurately.
As expected, the Watch Series 2 comes with a new, more powerful S2 dual-core processor, which is up to 50 percent faster than its predecessor and has better graphics. At the same time, the Series 2 has the brightest display that Apple has ever released, which should ensure good reading even in direct sunlight. The overall design has otherwise remained unchanged and the watch comes in traditional sizes – 38mm and 42mm.
To watch it on the basis watchOS 3 operating system it also got a new Breathe application (Breathing), which is supposed to make users do breathing exercises, and an improved Activity application (Exercise) with the ability to share activities with others.

The cheapest version of the Apple Watch Series 2 is again made of aluminum, and so is the middle model, which is again made of stainless steel. Instead of the original gold variant, however, today Apple introduced another premium variant, white ceramic, which it offers for 40. The ceramic body is supposed to be up to four times harder than steel.
In addition, in collaboration with Nike, there is also an all-new sports model of the Apple Watch Nike+, which comes with new colored fluoroelastomer straps that are equipped with press-in holes for ventilation, special watch faces and support for the Nike+ Run Club application. The dimensions are again 38 mm and 42 mm.
There was also speculation that the original Apple Watch generation would be improved, which indeed happened. Watch Series 1 has a new faster dual-core processor, the rest of the equipment remains the same.
The Apple Watch Series 2 will be on sale from September 23, and the special Nike+ edition will be available at the end of October. The cheapest Apple Watch Series 2 in the 38 mm version costs 11 crowns, the larger size costs 290 crowns. The second generation Apple Watch in stainless steel and 12 millimeters costs 290 crowns, the 38-millimeter model costs 17 crowns. All prices apply to models with rubber sports straps.
The Nike+ special edition will cost the same as the basic sports models, i.e. 11 and 290 crowns respectively.
The price of the first generation watch is now quite pleasant. You can buy Watch Series 1 the cheapest for 8 crowns for a smaller aluminum version with a sports strap. The larger model costs 290 crowns. But the first generation will no longer be available in stainless steel.
Cool! Ugly design
Low endurance

Jobs is turning in his grave
No. In general, flashlight watches are useless.
Great nickname. Thumbs up for me….
"Jobs is turning in his grave"... so I missed this :))) For God's sake, what's the SIM for? Do you have the first version? Have you used them for more than a few minutes in the store? Or is this just a troll post? :/
Well, of course it makes sense. And the phone can have hairs and a handle to make it difficult to sweep. Buy a samsung r750, you have a sim and an iPhone in there. It's amazing that no one wants Samsungs when they are so good.
Can someone explain things to me or can the watch do something more besides sports functions and notifications from the phone?
She knows how to search in Slovak for what they have nothing to do in the Czech Republic
And what should they do more?? Vacuum your floor. :-)))
i catch pokemon
Omnifocus / GTD I manage two jobs, family and conics
Calendar + streaming so I can see which meeting awaits me
I discreetly see what someone writes to me
For pokemon and sports notifications, sir. For me, maximum satisfaction, I got what I wanted and I'm using it.
I tested several types of watches and systems. I willingly kept Apple until the end so they wouldn't distort my opinion. FitBit Surge - great for sports, built-in GPS, great battery life, reasonable price, multi-platform - such a sports tracker with notifications.
Samsung gear S – top model with a built-in phone + samsung edge 7 (the watch does not support iOS) – it can do absolutely everything, but it sucks, I can’t handle basic sports functions like heart rate measurement even at rest, let alone while running, illogical and unquestioned control, typical for Asians. When running, I still get angry and often stop tracking for unknown reasons.
Apple watch - initial distrust of something that needs phone hardware for half of the work, because I don't have my own hw, it was quickly there. The design is great, the control from the first complex, then brilliant, because the watch does exactly what you expect from it. All you have to do is raise your hand to eye level and you immediately know what you want to lead, you don't have to look for anything. The perfect extended phone arm, plus lots of gadgets for "toys". Huge set-up options, application installation, wireless charging, and the importance of manufacturer support will not change beyond the new model. I'm afraid I'll have to shell out 10 because I don't want to say goodbye to them. And I have to say that I avoided them for a whole year (how long have they been on the market?)
I will write about the support of Asian products. Samsung has already released about 5 or 6 models of sports watches, but if your rubber strap breaks (and it cracks for life), you're in luck. There is no service, no ebay, no AliExpress. You can simply take the watch for 7 liters and hang it around your neck, like a kasparek.
I was expecting something like: "That golden font on a white background..." :-D
Why didn't you do a live stream?
I missed him.
Thank you in advance for your reply.
maybe they had an inkling of what was going to happen .. after I saw super marios and then pokemon .. I think the keynote level couldn't even be lowered anymore ..
So I see that I'm not alone with the opinion that it had nothing to do with it.
I was also looking for a transcript. Fortunately, he found himself with a competitor.
Here is a description of the water resistance marking (50M does not mean water resistance to a depth of 50 meters): http://hodinkyprovas.cz/vodeodolnost-hodinek/
That's what I thought too, but have you seen the Keynote? They declared themselves that it was a water watch. There was also footage of the torture.
Well, yes: A watch marked "WATER RESISTANT 50 m"
they are resistant to pressure up to 5 ATM (bar). It is possible to use them while swimming, during water sports and when showering. They are not intended for diving.
Water resistance 50 meters is clearly written on the keynote
Are they targeting athletes? Men's sports watches do not even reach their heels. Aiming for the same as the first version. For people from offices, what do they need to offer to run 3km twice a week...
I don't think so, I run 300 km a month, I run by feel, I have a 10-year-old Tissot on my hands to know what time it is, and I would take an Apple watch. People who run 3km twice a week don't need to wear anything, it's not even worth changing clothes:D:D:D
Precisely because people who run so little need notifications alerting them to movement, such as "are we running today". Who runs 4 times a week, it is stolen from him what the watch tells him in this regard. He ran before them and he will run after them. And compared to full-fledged sports watches, such as Garmin Fenix or Suunto Ambit or Sparta, the Apple Watch has pitifully few sports functions and an impractical design.
