For a long time there has been talk about the arrival of a redesigned MacBook Pro in 14″ and 16″ versions. This highly anticipated piece should offer a brand new design, thanks to which we will also see the return of some ports. Some sources also talk about the use of so-called mini-LED displays, which we could see for the first time with the 12,9″ iPad Pro. In any case, the M1X chip will bring a fundamental change. It should be the key feature of the expected MacBook Pros, which will move the device several levels forward. What do we know about the M1X so far, what should it offer and why is it important to Apple?
Dramatic increase in performance
Although, for example, the new design or the return of some ports appear to be the most interesting, the truth is more likely to be somewhere else. Of course, we are talking about the aforementioned chip, which according to the information so far should be called M1X. It should be noted, however, that the name of the new Apple Silicon chip has not yet been confirmed, and the question is whether it will actually bear the designation M1X. In any case, a number of respected sources favored this option. But let's get back to the performance itself. Apparently, the Cupertino company is going to take everyone's breath away with just this feature.
16″ MacBook Pro (render):
According to information from the Bloomberg portal, the new MacBook Pro with the M1X chip should move forward at a rocket pace. Specifically, it should boast a 10-core CPU with 8 powerful and 2 economical cores, a 16/32-core GPU and up to 32GB of memory. It can be seen from this that in this case, Apple prioritizes performance over energy saving, as the current M1 chip offers an 8-core CPU with 4 powerful and 4 energy-saving cores. Leaked benchmark tests have also flown through the Internet, which speak in favor of the apple creation. According to this information, the performance of the processor should be equal to the desktop CPU Intel Core i7-11700K, which is relatively unheard of in the field of laptops. Of course, the graphics performance is not bad either. According to the YouTube channel Dave2D, this should be equal to the Nvidia RTX 32 graphics card, specifically in the case of a MacBook Pro with a 3070-core GPU.
Why performance is so important to the new MacBook Pro
Of course, the question still arises as to why performance is actually so important in the case of the expected MacBook Pro. It all boils down to the fact that Apple wants to gradually switch to its own solution in the form of Apple Silicon - that is, to chips that it designs itself. However, this can be considered a relatively big challenge that cannot be solved overnight, especially with computers/laptops. A great example is the current 16″ MacBook Pro, which already offers a powerful processor and a dedicated graphics card. It is thus a device aimed at professionals and is not afraid of anything.
This is precisely where the problem would be with the use of the M1 chip. Although this model is sufficiently powerful and was able to pleasantly surprise practically most apple growers when it was introduced, it is not sufficient for professional tasks. This is a so-called basic chip, which perfectly covers entry-level models designed for regular work. Specifically, it lacks in terms of graphic performance. It is precisely this shortcoming that could surpass the MacBook Pro with the M1X.
When will the MacBook Pro with M1X be introduced?
Finally, let's shed some light on when the mentioned MacBook Pro with the M1X chip could actually be introduced. The most common talk is about the next Apple Event, which Apple could plan for October or November. Unfortunately, more detailed information is not yet known. At the same time, it is worth setting the record straight that, according to the findings so far, the M1X should not be the successor to the M1. Instead, it will be the M2 chip, which is rumored to be the chip powering the upcoming MacBook Air, due out next year. On the contrary, the M1X chip should be an improved version of the M1 for more demanding Macs, in this case the aforementioned 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro. Nevertheless, these are just names, which are not that important.
Performance is M1X useless if there is nothing to do. Mac is not a real OS, just like Linux, both systems are just some dummies that can do almost nothing. You can't play games on it anyway, if I don't count Apple (arcade) crap, the SW is quite miserable. Anyway, 99% of users don't care what and how they are inside, they are satisfied with a bitten apple on the lid and that's all. MacOS is for consumption, a real system for work and games, is, was and always will be Windows and PC!
ROFL, via windows :-)
Man, would you understand that the vast majority of users simply need a machine for office work and the Internet?
Have you ever been in a business and looked at what computers are normally used for?
Mates, you didn't do it anymore :) You've come out well here. It can be seen that you have no idea about working on a computer. And if you sit down with the Widleys after work at the factory and click some bullshit, it's your choice and no one is going to take it away from you. But please, don't promote that kind of shit here. I'm also not telling you that Widle is a user-unfriendly piece of shit that can't even handle LAN :)
I mix music and edit videos. Pritelkyne is a designer. I can't really imagine that we would switch to windows. Even with office work, I find myself more productive on the MacBook Pro, and I enjoy it even more. But it can be different for everyone. I don't play games, but I would probably buy a PS5 file, it would probably be better for me to play on TV. Maybe I'm just in the bubble of a very specific market segment :)
CCCCCOOOOOOOOOŽŽŽŽŽŽEEEEEE?????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, better stay in parallel universe atrapo :D
It's really useless for most users, but I will definitely buy a mac. Create 4k videos, graphics and edit photos anywhere and on a tablet as thin as a tablet. It will be TOP for me and similar people!
That's the reason to buy a Mac: 4k editing fast and high quality, and it doesn't end there
It can be seen that Mr. Mates, the expert here, has not even sniffed MacOS much. And according to the vomit he left here forever, it will stay that way. But it does not matter. I also worked at Widlý for quite a few years and sometimes I behaved like a moron when I saw an apple, so I actually understand it a little. People who are scared just act like jerks sometimes and we can't blame them.
Maybe it will improve with the performance.
