As far as wireless technologies are concerned, in this case we can consider the apple company as a kind of pioneer. It was Apple that removed the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 four years ago. This very bold move was highly criticized at the time and people simply did not understand what Apple had allowed itself to do. But this period lasted only a few months, and later other manufacturers of smartphones and devices in general began to follow the Californian giant. At the moment, we are in a situation where absolutely all connectors are gradually disappearing.

The current situation regarding wireless charging is complicated

On most mobile devices you will currently find only one single connector, the charging one. In most cases, this is a Lightning connector, along with USB-C. In recent months, there have also been rumors that Apple should come up with another revolution and soon introduce an iPhone that will have no connector at all and will only charge wirelessly. However, the iPhone 12 will not be this model without a connector for 99% of the time. By removing the connector, the device could be completely sealed, making it waterproof. However, Apple already has one such similar product in its portfolio - it is the Apple Watch. This smart apple watch can be submerged up to 50 meters deep without any problems, which is more than remarkable.

If you own an Apple Watch, you of course know how it charges. For those less knowledgeable who are not interested in Apple watches, I will mention that they are recharged using a special magnetic cradle. Simply place the Apple Watch on this cradle and charging will begin immediately. There is absolutely no connector on the body of the Apple Watch, neither for the SIM card nor for the headphones. In the case of the Apple Watch, we already use wireless charging, but in the case of the iPhone and other devices, we will have to wait for some time. The wireless technologies that Apple puts a lot of effort into (see the failed AirPower charging pad) are really perfect in their own way. As such, wireless charging is very addictive - just place the device on the charger and it's done, plus you don't have to drag a million cables anywhere.

Swissten and its products can help with wireless time

If you are one of the owners of several different devices, you most likely have several different cables lying by your bed or on your office desk - a charging cable for your Mac, an HDMI cable for connecting a monitor, a charging Lightning cable for an iPhone and another for an iPad, then synchronization Lightning cable, quite possibly a USB-C cable and also a cable with a charging cradle for the Apple Watch. In order for the work table to look minimalistic and simply good, this number of cables must be reduced as much as possible, also because of the limited space for adapters. In these cases, Swissten can come in handy, offering adapters with several outputs with enormous power, or perhaps 3 in 1 cable. A complete novelty is the charging cable marked 2 in 1, with which you can simultaneously charge an iPhone or other device with a Lightning connector and an Apple Watch.

Official specification

This charging cable, with which you can charge iPhone and Apple Watch together, has the simple name 2in1. The power of this cable is divided into two "parts" - the Lightning connector has a charging current of up to 2.4A, and the charging power of the Apple Watch cradle is then 2W. The length of the cable as such is approx. 120 centimeters. A single cable is available for 100 centimeters and the last 20 centimeters of the cable is then split so that, if necessary, you can have the iPhone and Apple Watch at least a little distance from each other when charging. On the other side of the cable there is a classic USB-A input connector. As such, the style of the cable is very reminiscent of the original charging cable from Apple.

Packing

If you like the concept of the mentioned 2-in-1 cable and decide to buy it after reading this review, you definitely want to know how the cable will come to you. The packaging of this cable is completely typical for Swissten. So you get a classic white-red box. On its front side there is an image of the cable itself together with the selected specifications. On the side you will then find further specifications and the name, and on the back there is an instruction manual. After opening the box, all you have to do is pull out the plastic carrying case from which you can simply pull out the cable.

Processing

As for the processing of this 2-in-1 cable, it is really difficult to fault anything. I can say from my own experience that a cable is definitely not a cable. Some cables can be very durable, together with textile braiding, other cables are then classically white and in their processing resemble original cables from Apple. In the case of the 2in1 cable, we are talking about the second case, that is, the cable is very similar to the classic charging cable from Apple. The thickness of the cable is still sufficient, even after bifurcation, and the cable should definitely withstand worse handling, or perhaps being run over by chairs - in any case, I definitely do not recommend trying it. The charging cradle of the 2-in-1 cable is completely identical to the original one and there is nothing to complain about either. If I were to be really critical, then Swissten will take minus points for the fact that the cable is very twisted out of the box and does not want to "get used" to its untangled state. But it is a question of a few hours before the cable straightens nicely from the folded state.

Personal experience

I have to admit that in the past I have a resistance to similar cables with a magnetic cradle, unless it is an original Apple cable. I bought a cheap charging cable for the Apple Watch from an unnamed brand, along with a wireless pad that could be used to charge an iPhone as well as an Apple Watch. Since both the cable and the wireless pad had alternative charging cradles and were not original parts, charging the Apple Watch did not work. After pressing the watch to the non-original cradle, although the charging animation was shown, in any case, the Apple Watch did not charge even a single percent in an hour. After researching, I found that the non-genuine cradle can only charge Apple Watch Series 3 and older, which was a problem with my Apple Watch Series 4 at the time. So I continued to rely on the original charging cable and haven't tried any other form of charging for the Apple Watch since.

However, with the Swissten 2in1 cable, I can confirm with a calm head that charging my Apple Watch Series 4 works without the slightest problem, The charging does not drop out in any way, the cradle does not heat up, and there is no problem even when charging the Apple Watch with the iPhone together. The great thing in this case is the fact that with this cable you are able to save one USB port in the computer or in the adapter itself, which you can then use for anything else, which is definitely useful. The only thing I would complain about is the weaker magnet of the magnetic cradle. The watch on it is not pressed as strongly as in the case of the original one. But this is a detail that I would definitely not deal with.

záver

If you have a problem with full sockets at home and you have nowhere to plug in other adapters, you might like not only this Swissten 2in1 cable, thanks to which you can easily charge your Apple Watch and iPhone at the same time. Thanks to this cable, you are able to save one whole USB connector, which with "simple" adapters can mean one whole plug. I also have good news if you need a USB-C PowerDelivery connector instead of the classic USB-A connector - such a cable is also available in Swissten's offer. The variant with USB-A connector costs 399 crowns, the second variant with USB-C PD costs 449 crowns. In addition to this cable, do not forget to look at other products in the offer of the Swissten.eu online store - for example more complex charging adapters, thanks to which you save additional plugs, in addition, you can also buy here quality power banks, tempered glass of various types, headphones, classic cables and much more.
