Spotify has received the long-awaited integration with Siri. Users of iPhones and iPads with iOS 13 installed can start playback of songs, albums or playlists using a voice command from today - just update the Spotify app to version 8.5.26. Along with that, the streaming service also arrived on Apple TV.

To control Spotify with voice commands, just activate Siri and ask to play a song, album or playlist. However, you need to add the words "with Spotify" to the standard voice command so that Siri knows to perform the action in the given application, not in Apple Music. The entire command to play the selected track could then look like this:

"Play Look Alive by Drake with Spotify."

Voice commands for controlling Spotify can also be entered via AirPods or even in the car via CarPlay or at home via HomePod, which is connected to the iPhone via AirPlay.

In addition to the above, support for Low Data Mode in iOS 13 also arrived with the new version of the app. If the mode is activated on the iPhone in Settings -> Mobile data -> Data options, then Spotify will automatically activate its own Data Saver feature.

Starting today, Spotify is also available on Apple TV, where it was missing for many years. The respective app should appear directly in the tvOS App Store later today. So if you own an Apple TV, you can also play music from Spotify on your TV – of course, free membership with ads and other restrictions is also supported.
