Yesterday, as expected, we saw the launch of the new second-generation iPhone SE. This iPhone is almost 100% sure to build on the success of the previous generation, mainly thanks to its price, compactness, and hardware. We already know that in the Czech Republic people can buy this iPhone in the basic model for 12 crowns, then three color variants are available - black, white and red. Let's take a closer look at what Apple has equipped the latest iPhone SE with and what you can expect from the hardware.
Processor, RAM, Battery
When we saw the arrival of the iPhone XR a few years ago, many people simply couldn't understand how it was possible that this cheap and "inferior" model had the same processor as the flagships. Of course, Apple is doing well with this step on the one hand - it wins the "hearts" of Apple fans, as it installs the most powerful processor in all new models, but some people would of course appreciate the installation of an older processor and thus a lower price. Even in the case of the new iPhone SE, however, we did not experience any cheating, as Apple installed the latest and most powerful processor in it at the moment Apple A13 Bionic. This processor is manufactured 7nm manufacturing process, the maximum clock rate of two powerful cores is 2.65 GHz. The other four cores are economical. As for memory RAM, so it is confirmed that the Apple iPhone SE 2nd generation has memory 3 GB. As far as battery, so it is absolutely identical to the iPhone 8, so it has capacity 1 mAh.
Display
The great price of the latest iPhone SE is mainly due to the used display. It is the display that is one of the elements that allows you to distinguish flagships from "cheaper" iPhones. In the case of the iPhone SE 2nd generation, we waited LCD displays, which Apple refers to as Retina HD. It is very similar to the display used by, for example, the iPhone 11. It should therefore be noted that it is not an OLED display. Distinction of this display is 1334 x 750 pixels, sensitivity pal 326 pixels per inch. Contrast ratio acquires values 1400:1, maximum brightness display is 625 rivets. Of course, the True Tone function and support for the P3 color gamut are included. Many people criticize Apple for the kind of displays it uses on cheaper devices, and that these are displays that don't even have Full HD resolution. In this case, I would like to compare the situation to cameras, where the value of megapixels has also long since practically meant nothing. Resolution is slowly becoming less important with Apple displays, as every user who has held an iPhone 11 in their hands knows that this display is absolutely perfectly color-tuned and that individual pixels on the display are definitely not visible. In this case, Apple definitely has the upper hand over other companies.
Camera
With the new iPhone SE, we also got (most likely) a new photo system, albeit with only one single lens. There are speculations on the Internet about whether Apple accidentally used the old camera from the iPhone 2 in the iPhone SE 8nd generation, while other users claim that in the new iPhone SE we will find the camera from the iPhone 11. However, what we know for 100% is the fact that it is a classic wide-angle lens with 12 Mpix and f/1.8 aperture. Since the iPhone SE 2nd generation does not have a second lens, the portraits are "computed" by software, and then we can completely forget about the ultra-wide-angle lens. There is automatic and optical image stabilization, sequential mode, LED True Tone flash, as well as a "sapphire" crystal lens cover. As for video, the iPhone SE 2nd generation is only able to shoot in resolution 4K at 24, 30 or 60 frames per second, slow motion is then available in 1080p at 120 or 240 frames per second. The front camera has 7 Mpix, aperture f/2.2 and can record 1080p video at 30 FPS.
Security
Many fans of the apple company expected that Apple would not return to Touch ID with the iPhone SE 2nd generation, but the opposite is true. Apple continues to not bury Touch ID in iPhones and has decided that the 2nd generation iPhone SE will not offer Face ID for the time being. According to many opinions that I have had the opportunity to listen to in person, the absence of Face ID is one of the main reasons why people simply do not decide to buy an iPhone SE 2nd generation and prefer to buy a used iPhone 11, which has Face ID. So the question remains, whether Apple wouldn't have done better if Touch ID replaced Face ID and thus got rid of huge frames, which are really big for today, let's face it. An ideal option in this case would also be a fingerprint reader hidden under the display. But now it is useless to dwell on the what if.
záver
The new iPhone SE of the second generation definitely surprises with its internals, especially with the latest Apple A13 Bionic processor, which is also found in the latest iPhones 11 and 11 Pro (Max). As for the RAM memory, we will have to wait for this data for now. In the case of the display, Apple bet on the proven Retina HD, the camera will definitely not offend. According to opinions, the only flaw in beauty is Touch ID, which could have been replaced by Face ID or a fingerprint reader in the display. How do you feel about the new iPhone SE 2nd generation? Have you decided to buy it, or will you buy another model? Let us know in the comments.
For me, I'm a bit of a canner, the optimal solution, I have an eight and the new SE is a clear choice for me...
Face ID is nice, but it's not always the best. BTW, these days Face ID masks are probably not very useful outdoors... Golden print...
well, when you have to use gloves in the store, how do you deal with fingerprints when opening the phone or paying by card???? Well, very simply, about the same as for Face ID. By manual coding. So your opinion is absolutely wrong……..
You don't have to wear gloves in the store, it's just recommended. don't be literal again. ;)
Battery capacity is tragic. Otherwise, I like the phone as a cheap option. I have a 6S Plus, already the second battery and I charge it three times a day (although wireless charging would solve it to some extent). So I will wait to see if there will be a battery record holder among the new iPhones in the fall.
Good for me, but big. If they stuffed all this into the SE1gen body, it would be mega. I had a ball size here, small is good. I have an ipad for the rest. This is how I consider that the se2gn is not and I will wait for the 12pro, the right bullet size.
Ad camera:
The iPhone SE's camera might have the same technical specs as the one in the iPhone 8—12MP, f/1.7—but it's much improved, bringing Portrait mode with depth control, Portrait lighting, next-gen Smart HDR, and QuickTake video, advanced camera features that will take pictures that belie the SE's $399 price tag.
They won't add FaceID and it's logical. The price of the device would be different, they would have already moved to the XR price. A small phone with a large display from Apple, the dream of the Czech nation ???♂️. Plus at a good price. Of course, everyone would like a lot of music for little, but we are with Apple :). Apple would blow away the top models a bit. So if someone wants FaceID, they will pay extra ??. It's just that the foun is focused on certain customers, the price while maintaining the ecosystem.
I was waiting for the new SE and hoped that it would not be confirmed that it would be based on the iP8. The body of the 8 is only 7 mm smaller than, for example, the Xs, which can be bought second-hand in great condition for 13, and I get a larger and better display in an overall similar body size. This makes no sense!
I'm keeping my SE 1st gen.
