In mid-February, developers from Feral Interactive announced that they are planning to release a special anniversary edition of the previous year's hit Rise of the Tomb Rider. The new release (on macOS) was supposed to include a complete conversion of the original title for Windows, as well as all expansions published so far. Today, information about when this vintage title will be on sale has become public. If you've got a bit of a gamer in you (and you're running macOS), mark your calendars for April 12th.

Rise of the Tomb Rider: 20 Year Celebration will be released this Thursday, and the developers have finally published a list of minimum requirements, in this case rather a list of all supported Macs and MacBooks, on which you can run this originally two-year-old title. Due to the graphics of the game, the requirements are not high at all. According to the official statement of the developers, the novelty will be compatible with the following machines:

  • All 13″ MacBook Pros released since 2016
  • All 15″ MacBook Pros released from Late 2013 (with 2,3 GHz processor and better)
  • All 21,5″ iMacs from the Late 2017 models
  • All 27″ iMacs from Late 2014 (models with nVidia GT 755M graphics card not officially supported) and some configurations from 2012 (nVidia 680MX)
  • All Mac Pros

If you haven't played the latest Tomb Rider on other platforms, and you have a compatible device, you can dive into the game starting Thursday. The novelty can be purchased both on the developer's website, and should also be available on Steam and the Mac App Store on the day of release. An interesting fact is that the version for the Mac App Store takes up 37GB, while the version for Steam "only" 27GB. The price of the title is €60.
