Press Release: QNAP introduced the official app HybridMount file cloud gateway , which integrates a greater number of public cloud services and helps enterprises easily deploy highly cost-effective, elastic and secure hybrid cloud storage environments. The released official version of HybridMount has added the Resource Transfer function, which greatly improves the efficiency of cloud access by allowing users to flexibly allocate NAS CPU resources and bandwidth for data transfer. Starting today, QNAP NAS users will receive an update to the official version of HybridMount.

The HybridMount file cloud gateway allows QNAP NAS users to access cloud storage using standard protocols (including SMB, FTP, AFP, NFS and WebDAV). If local cache is enabled on the NAS device, users can access cloud storage at LAN-level speed. Users can also enjoy various QTS functions, such as file management, editing, and multimedia applications, for NAS-connected cloud storage. Users can also easily use a remote service to mount remote storage or cloud storage with the HybridMount app and access data centrally with the File Station app. HybridMount supports 22 major file storage and object storage. HybridMount has seen more than 100 downloads since its beta release.

Businesses and organizations can use HybridMount on their NAS in different workplaces and map these NAS to the same cloud storage for file synchronization, ensuring they always have the latest file versions. When local cache is enabled and used, HybridMount will cache recently accessed cloud data on the NAS. This significantly reduces network usage costs by eliminating the need for different users to each download a copy of a shared file, while facilitating data access for increased productivity.

QNAP provides 2 free lifetime HybridMount licenses for users to build their hybrid cloud environment. Businesses can purchase licenses to QNAP Software Store to add additional cloud connections and easily scale with business growth requirements.
