Press Release: Today, QNAP introduced the model TS-328, the first quad-core NAS with 3 drive bays that allows you to create a RAID 5 array with only three drives. Compared to NAS with 2 disk bays, which only allow the creation of RAID 1 arrays, the TS-328 provides the option of using a more efficient RAID 5 array. Thanks to this function, it can optimize the available space and ensure higher data protection. The TS-328 provides rich multimedia applications, video transcoding capabilities and is an ideal solution for home users for central storage, backup and data management.

According to QNAP's internal data, 30 percent of QNAP NAS users prefer RAID 5 and benefit from optimized storage, higher performance and data protection. QNAP's first NAS with 3 disk bays enables entry-level users to create a RAID 5 array directly on the NAS and provide a cost-effective private cloud storage solution. The TS-328 also supports images (Snapshots) and allows users to quickly recover data in case of accidental deletion/modification or ransomware attack.

"High data security was the main goal when designing the TS-328 model. Potential users looking for a basic NAS can now enjoy the benefits of RAID 5 configuration and snapshot protection at an affordable price, while transcoding and multimedia applications provide a fantastic multimedia experience. Along with a sleek look that fits into the home environment, the TS-328 is the most affordable RAID 5 NAS for home users," said Dan Lin, Product Manager of QNAP.

The TS-328 features a Realtek RTD1296 1,4GHz quad-core processor with 2GB DDR4 memory and provides two 1GbE ports and SATA 6Gb/s ports for speeds of 225MB/s read and 155MB/s write. The NAS TS-328 is equipped with hardware acceleration for real-time 4K H.265 / H.264 transcoding and can convert videos to universal file formats that can be played smoothly on mobile devices. With QVHelper, Qmedia and Video HD video transfer apps, users can easily transfer media files to devices around the house and anywhere on mobile devices.

With the latest version of QTS 4.3.4, users can easily monitor and backup mobile device content on the TS-328 by plugging it into the USB port. At the same time, the integrated Application Center provides a variety of applications: "IFTTT Agent" and "Qfiling" help automate user workflows and ensure greater efficiency and productivity; "Qsirch" provides full-text search to quickly find files; "Qsync" and "Hybrid Backup Sync" simplify file sharing and synchronization across devices. Users can also download Qphoto to their mobile devices, take photos, record videos and share them directly to the TS-328.
