Press Release: QNAP® Systems, Inc. is a leading innovator in the field of computing and storage solutions, cooperates in partnership with ULINK Technology Inc. (ULINK), a world leader in providing IT storage interface testing tools, and the result of this collaboration is DA Drive Analyzer 2.0, an improved version of the tool for predicting failures and diagnosing the health of NAS drives. Leveraging cloud-based artificial intelligence, DA Drive Analyzer 2.0 supports drive health diagnostics with new features tailored for business users, including proxy connectivity, SAS and NVMe support, 24-hour drive failure prediction, and flexible drive detection settings. These new features provide enterprise users with comprehensive and accurate analysis of disk health to prevent serious data loss.

“While most enterprises rely on SMART attributes as traditional drive detection tools, the study showed that more than 30% of drive failures did not trigger any SMART error alerts,” explained Tim Lin, product manager at QNAP, adding: “DA Drive Analyzer 2.0 combines the benefits of artificial intelligence for big data analysis with comprehensive features suitable for enterprises. Enterprises can proactively monitor, analyze and predict disk failure/condition, allowing their IT staff to prepare for disk replacement before they fail and prevent data loss.”

Each QNAP NAS device includes one disk license for free. Users can apply AI disc prediction to multiple discs by purchase DA Drive Analyzer license, starting at $4,35 per disk/year, a cost-effective data protection option.

Key features of DA Drive Analyzer 2.0

  • Improved enterprise privacy protection with a proxy server connection
DA Drive Analyzer 2.0 supports connecting to a proxy server and six proxy protocols (HTTP / HTTPS / SOCKS4 / SOCKS5 / SOCKS4A / SOCKS5H) to hide the IP address of the NAS device from external networks to ensure data privacy.
  • Extensive support for SAS and NVMe drives
DA Drive Analyzer not only supports detection of SATA HDD/SSD, but also high-performance SAS HDD/SSD and NVMe SSD.
  • Prediction of disk failure within 24 hours
Businesses will be notified within 24 hours of potential disk failure within the next 6 months, helping IT staff prepare for disk replacement to prevent data loss.
  • Customized data upload time from the drive
Business users can customize a schedule to upload health and disk usage data to ULINK's AI-powered analytics platform. This way, you can avoid losing critical disk analysis data due to NAS hibernation or downtime.
