Press Release: QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading innovator in computing, networking and storage solutions, today introduced NetBak PC Agent, a license-free solution for backing up your entire Windows® system. NetBak PC Agent is a tool that requires Hyper Data Protector, a NAS application that supports end device backup (including virtual machines, Windows® PCs, and servers), to be installed on the user's NAS.

Existing NetBak Replicator users are encouraged to upgrade to NetBak PC Agent to enjoy a modern user interface and block backup of entire systems, drives, folders or files. In addition to updating the backup format, NetBak PC Agent supports new features such as:

  • Hardware recovery of the computer: Restore your entire computer/server system by creating a bootable USB drive.
  • Synthetic Incremental Backup: Reduce backup/restore time with QNAP's revolutionary synthetic incremental backup technology, which increases IT efficiency and end-user productivity and helps maintain data integrity by reducing RTO and RPO.
  • Backup Explorer: Using the intuitive user interface of Backup Explorer in Hyper Data Protector, you can search for a specific folder or file in different versions of backups and restore them to client devices.
  • Scheduled Backup: Once users set up backup rules, NetBak PC Agent takes care of the rest.
  • System backup restore target: Both local and remote networks are supported.

“NetBak PC Agent simplifies complex backup tasks and significantly saves backup/restore time not only for IT professionals but also for personal users. NetBak PC Agent takes the hassle out of traditional backup scenarios and offers global deduplication, backup scheduling, and compression for recovery,” stated Bobby Chen, Product Manager of QNAP.
