Adam Kos Is Samsung losing face? It's not necessarily true, he's just trying to combine the most interesting of all worlds into one - his own. Is he doing well? Pretty much yes. The Galaxy S24 series is great, although it is true that there are few innovations in it either.
The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ go up against the entry-level iPhone 15, though it's not a very flattering comparison. They simply give Apple a hard time. The diagonals of their displays have increased by 0,1 inches, so here we have 6,2 and 6,7", but they reach a brightness of 2 nits. That's not the main thing. Samsung is not afraid of this, and gives these models an adaptive refresh rate from 600 to 1 Hz. When will we see it from Apple? Hard to say. And then there's the telephoto lens. Even with basic Samsung models, you can see further than with any basic iPhone. The telephoto lens is 120x, although only 3MPx. The main camera has 10 MPx, ultra-wide-angle 50 MPx. Selfie is 12MPx and is hidden in the hole.

The chassis is aluminum, the back is glass, the overall design is only slightly innovative, but very pleasing. You may not like it, but Samsung has nothing to be ashamed of here. Except for the used Exynos 2400 chip? But we don't know that and we will only see in subsequent tests, there is no need to condemn him yet. Both lower models have done very well in such a way that if you look at them, you will really like them, even if you hate Samsung. It is not only the great display that is to blame, but also the uncompromising processing.

But the Galaxy S24 Ultra is a different story. It's the best Samsung can do, that is, if we're talking about classic phones. It finally got rid of the stupid curved display, so if you like the S Pen, the curvature won't limit you. The frame is newly made of titanium. Why are big companies betting on titanium? Because it's cool. With the iPhone 15 Pro, it might have made sense given the weight, durability and thermal conductivity, but here? The device is just as heavy as its predecessor, so perhaps for durability? Overheating is taken care of by the evaporation chamber, which is 1,9 times larger than last year.

But the copying does not end there. Samsung ditched its unique 10x telephoto lens and replaced it with a 5x. It is said that people will take better pictures with it, because the 10x zoom is too much. But if you want, it's still here, just not optically. However, the results should be better than in previous generations. The 5x telephoto lens offers 50 MPx. Here, too, we have to wait to see how the real experience, which we do not yet have, will turn out.

The chip used is Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in a special edition for Galaxy devices. Nothing to argue here yet, it's the best in the Android world. 12GB of RAM is less than the competition, but Samsung does not go to extremes here. What matters is how the whole works, and it makes a very positive impression. Ultra has grown a bit more when it got rid of nonsense like the curved display, but at the same time it has a clear Samsung signature. This really could be the king of Android phones in 2024.

If Samsung copied the iPhone 24 Pro Max in the Galaxy S15 Ultra, with its One UI 6.1 superstructure it mainly copies Google and the capabilities of its Pixel 8. There are works with text based on artificial intelligence, work with voice based on artificial intelligence, work with photos and video based on artificial intelligence. But it looks effective, reasonable and useful, and Apple doesn't have any of that, or at least it won't until iOS 18.
The first impressions of the novelties, which you can play with for about 30 minutes, are therefore really positive. We can criticize the absence of Qi2 or satellite SOS, but let's take into account that we are talking about the world of Android here, which is a little different after all. We are really looking forward to longer testing, because the Galaxy S24 phones are really good and worthy competition to the iPhone 15 series.
