Plus, you can save your creations to iCloud so you can continue working on your iPhone, iPad, or other MacBook. Well, despite these benefits offered by the Apple ecosystem, I liked more the Office suite, which I have subscribed to for several years in the form of Office 365.

Dan Pražák But why did I actually choose to pay extra for this solution when I have one available for free on Mac? Of several reasons. First of all, like many Apple users today, I used a Windows PC. And you simply won't find iWork there, or rather it appeared here only later as a web application. But in that case, it was easier for me to work with the Office suite that I had legally purchased, even though it was Office 2003. So the first reason I would say is that I'm just used to using one solution, although I realizei the quality of the iWork suite and the fact that a Keynote presentation can look absolutely phenomenal without having to spend hours searching for the right animations and effects.
But even if you get 15 minutes of fame thanks to your presentation in Keynote, you will only open the presentation in the desired form on another Mac. When you save it in a PowerPoint-compatible format, or PPTX, the animations and transitions will not work as expected. Yes, compatibility is also a stumbling block, especially in our regions. Even with it, it is not perfect, in some institutions you will still find old versions of software that do not support newer functions, and therefore there is also a risk that not everything will work as it should. But the situation is still better than if I had to share files in native iWork formats.

As for updates, I don't think there's much reason to elaborate, both sets get regular updates with fixes and new features. But I feel like Apple doesn't update their software that much, like Microsoft. I could be wrong though, as Microsoft's updates are distracting to me, while Apple's are more of a background thing, so I it doesn't jump out at me Auto-Update window asking me to turn off the software immediately if I want to update it.
But in what according to mě Office 365 absolutely excels, it is a cloud service. No, they are not as intuitive as iCloud, on the other hand, as a member I can take advantage of several essential benefits that iWork simply does not have. For example I can open my documents not only on Apple devices, but also in native Office applications for Windows or even on Android, since I also use a Galaxy S10+.

Free 5 GB of space in iCloud is nice, but if you also use it to back up your devices, you will soon find yourself in a situation where you cannot comfortably share files across devices. But it does not necessarily mean the same experience for all users, thus, as I see the advantages in the suite from Microsoft, many Apple fans may prefer Apple's kit.
