Prime Video is becoming more and more popular in the Czech Republic. Other services are starting to lose

If you want to listen to music, watch movies, and generally consume content these days, your best bet is to subscribe to a streaming service. Thanks to this, you do not have to deal with lengthy downloading and dragging files to the device or to an external drive. You simply open the application of the selected service, search for what you want to play or start and you can immediately listen or start watching. In addition, subscription prices are not high at all, so this is an absolutely ideal way to consume content.

We all know it - it's evening and you don't know what to watch with your significant other. In exactly this situation, you can go to the portal JustWatch, which, among other things, can show you rankings of the most popular movies and series across all available streaming services. This portal has access to a lot of data, thanks to which it can draw up various graphs and read interesting information from them. Every quarter, it then shares information with us on how individual streaming services did or did not do well in terms of market share. We are currently in the third quarter of 2021 and in this case we have interesting data available to share with you.

SVOD market share in Q3 2021

In the Czech Republic, the Prime Video service performed very well in the third quarter of 2021 - it saw an overall 4% increase compared to the second quarter. Thanks to this, Prime Video became the second most popular streaming service in the country. However, it has a lead of only one percent, and that is before HBO GO. The first in the ladder is of course Netflix, which holds a 43% market share.  TV+ and O2 TV saw a 1% and 2% increase in market share, respectively, compared to the previous quarter. Both of these services currently have a 7% market share in the country.

As for the market share in the Czech Republic throughout the year, Prime Video is also doing very well in this case. It was this service that recorded the only overall increase in market share in the country during the whole year - specifically, it can boast a 9% increase since the beginning of the year.  TV+ is again the only service that neither worsened nor improved and continues to have a market share of 7%. Netflix, HBO GO, O2 TV and other streaming services available in the Czech Republic have then relatively significantly deteriorated. In total, these other services make up 4% of the entire market share.
