When Apple presented us with the AirTag location tag in April, practically everyone expected one thing from it - the ability to precisely search for our belongings. And as the Cupertino giant promised, he did. This novelty is quite popular among apple growers and fulfills its purpose perfectly. In any case, the user could disagree Reddit going by the moniker cyem, which also inadvertently revealed a hidden developer mode.

What developer mode looks like:

This user had trouble pairing the AirTag with the iPhone, which understandably pissed him off. In a fit of frustration, he then tapped his name several times within the Find application, specifically when the precise search mode was active, which immediately opened the aforementioned hidden developer mode. It reveals several diagnostic and technical information from the accelerometer, gyroscope, haptic response data, screen resolution and more. Of course, this mode is useless for the average user. At the same time, you shouldn't mess with the sliders and buttons that the mode reveals unless you're 100% sure. Rather, this discovery offers a so-called peek under the hood, thanks to which we can see how the calibration and hardware work each time a precision search is activated.

To open the aforementioned developer mode, you must have an iPhone 11 or later. They are equipped with the U1 chip for the precision search function, which can determine the position of the AirTag with maximum accuracy. Whether the mode will remain in iOS is unclear for now anyway. Apple users on the forums are discussing the upcoming release of iOS 14.5.2, which will remove it.
