In 2009, a documentary called Objectified was created. In it, director Gary Hustwit brings viewers closer to the complex relationship people have with products of all kinds, and at the same time introduces those involved in designing these products. In the feature-length documentary, a number of more and less well-known personalities from the field of design will appear, including former Apple chief designer Jony Ive. The creator of the documentary himself has now decided to make his film available for free to all viewers around the world.

Gary Hustwit now streams the vast majority of his film works for free on his website. Objectified premiered at the SxSW film festival in March 2009, and has since been screened in hundreds of cities around the world. The documentary's television premiere was broadcast on PBS's Independent Lens, with audiences in the UK, Canada, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, Latin America and other regions.

The film Objectified deals with how humanity approaches objects - from alarm clocks to light switches and shampoo bottles to electronic devices. The film will feature interviews with a number of designers and the audience will also have the opportunity to see behind the scenes of the design of various products. Even after eleven years, the film does not lose any of its interest. If you want to watch it too, you can watch it for free and legally at Oh You Pretty Things website, where it will be available until March 31 – after which it will be replaced by another image.
