There is an abundance of original and fun applications and games from independent developers on the market. But the biggest gems are buried under a lot of mainstream titles, and it usually takes a long time before we even come across an interesting one. One such minor gem is the game Pigments.

This is a very entertaining title with a beautiful audiovisual side that will help you relieve your daily stress. You connect two primary colors in rows to form secondary colors, which you then connect together and get points for removing them. You can buy up to three upgrades for the points you earn, which will slightly increase your playing time. You can buy extra seconds, choose fifteen squares to instantly change to a secondary color, or have ten squares randomly change to a better selection of primary colors. But to buy them, you need enough points, which can be earned by playing timed game modes. The game does not offer in-app purchases. The absence of sometimes annoying microtransactions is therefore a small bonus here.

You can choose from three game modes. In timed mode, you start with sixty seconds, and depending on how many squares you can clear within the specified limit, you are awarded that many points. In the second mode, you can challenge a friend, where you both get the same board pattern, and you have to prove your skills again within a time limit of sixty seconds. The third and final mode is called Zen, and as the name suggests, you won't find any time limit in this mode. So you can play as long as you want. The only downside to Zen mode is that you don't get the points needed to buy upgrades.

The pleasant visual aspect and simple controls, where you navigate the entire game only with your gestures, definitely deserve to be highlighted. A very clean artistic design is then complemented by pleasant and soothing music. So if you're looking for an app that you can "turn off" for a while, Pigments should definitely not be overlooked.

You can download Pigments from App Store completely free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices and requires iOS 6.0 or later. The application does not contain Czech, but thanks to its simple operation, even less proficient English speakers can find their way around it.
