Today, in a press release on the occasion of the announcement of financial results for the third quarter of this year, Apple revealed when the expected OS X Mountain Lion will be released. The new operating system will be available from July 25, for download in the Mac App Store for $19,99.
The Mountain Lion will sell for ten dollars less than its predecessor, the Lion. Users will be able to purchase Mac OS 10.8 through the Mac App Store and then install it on a total of five computers. Both Lion and Snow Leopard users can update.
OS X Mountain Lion includes over 200 new features including Notification Center, Game Center, AirPlay Mirroring, Facebook and Twitter integration, etc.
It should be added that the Facebook integration will not arrive until the fall together with iOS6.
Well, I won't sleep over it...
Yes, Ksichtbook these days are just companies collecting information about customers and girls' blogs, they can keep that to themselves. The file should have integrated the services of the competition - Google. Picasa, Google+ and so on. not some Flickr and Ksichtbook :-(
Flickr is great, Google+ is probably difficult :D they are competitors and Apple is getting rid of Google, let alone integrating their social network... In any case, the non-integration of Facebook doesn't bother me, so that's fine ;)
I do not know. comparing picasa and flickr... on the one hand, picasa is localized, it immediately tells you that you can download the osx app and it has a lot of pictures. fllickr fell asleep, it's better in Czech Rajce. btw tomato made a plugin for iPhoto, quite surprised :)
I don't have my own card, can I sign in to the mac app store on the account of a friend who has a card and buy it on his apple ID, install it and after installation sign in to my account again without losing applications, what do I have in lion now? or if I take his card, log it out of his id and fill it in my id and then want to log it back in again, won't it be a problem? I know that, for example, with the password, if I change it, I can't have what I had before for a year.
so have your friend who has a card buy an iTunes Gift Card... and you're done
as it was last year... there will be one license for 5 computers... so either Gifft Card or log in... or wait for the flash installation!
I can't read the flash installation anymore. I haven't seen gift cards sold in guilds. Thanks.
gift can be given directly from itunes...
I couldn't find the gifting option anywhere on the mac app store, I do it that way in the itunes app store.
I would be interested in that??? is there a donation app on the Mac app store, like Gift on itunes??
The AppStore does not accept gift codes or Gift apps. I also wanted to give the game as a present :-( It's great in iTunes, it even generates a nice birthday card in the Appstore...

I thought...that there would be a procedure to create a flash installation somewhere...then you can get 10.8 on as many computers as you want. But on the other hand... the transition from 10.6 to 10.7 was very specific... it is possible that this year it won't work... we'll see.
I'm a bit confused about the supported models. I have an old type macbook air 1,6GHz intel core 2 duo ... 2GB 667 MHz ddr2 sdram ... intel gma x3100 144mb ... could someone advise me if it will work?
The key is how old the MBA is. If you have a Late 2008 model or newer, then you're out of the water.

well, I don't know how to find out... I saw this article
Apple in the top bar > About This Mac > More Info > text under the name MacBook Air.
I have the "original" there... is it something before late 2008?
Yes, the Original MBA is Early 2008, the only Air that will not run OS X 10.8.
Yes, I found it... naaaadhera! Time for fresh air.)
If I'm not mistaken, the oldest Air is late2008, so ML should run on any existing MBA. So I wouldn't worry about the Airs whether ML will run there or not.
but what time does it come out?
Hi, if I have an aluminum MacBook, version 5,1 (Core 2 Duo, 2,4 GHz), will ML work for me? I can't see anywhere when this MacBook was released. Thanks for the info. Michael
I am running developer preview on the same version, so I can confirm that it is yes... otherwise, I recommend replacing the SSD disk and CD drive with a second data disk... I am not afraid to say that the speed of the entire system has doubled
There is an apple icon on the top left of the bar, click on it and select "About this MacBook" then "More information" and you will get to the internal designation such as Mid 2011 or Late 2010 etc. According to that you will then find if your MB will be supported or No.
Forgive me for asking a lame question - will my installed applications, documents, etc. remain after the update, or will I have a completely clean MAC?
you will be left with absolutely everything... you would only have to do a clean install to lose everything...
I would make a backup just in case, but my experience of installing Lion is that only the system update takes place, so the documents and applications remain, including the settings.
Thanks. The backup is already running.
does anyone know how much a mountain lion costs? Do I need to schedule a time to reinstall... :)
I guess it's around 18-19pm... but nobody knows. If I remember correctly...it was last year.
I guess 08:00 or 09:00 Palo Alto time ;) California…
: O)
It comes out between 17:00 and 18:00 our time so you're not mistaken either ;)
and you probably don't remember exactly how it was... I googled that it was last year after 14 pm our time :o)
I have no idea ;) I don't even know if I watched it so keenly last year, but I have the impression that I did ;)
I didn't watch it either...I GMed the me version a long time ago. I'm just curious...if they were overwhelmed like last year...a friend downloaded it for maybe 4 hours and now he told me that he had to start the download several times :o)
I'm afraid that the congestion will be the same this year, as with iOS... despite the huge data centers Apple has, there is a huge interest ;) on the other hand, it's good, what other company manages to be updated like this? ? Answer: NONE... Otherwise, another problem is that we have to suck it all the way from the US, which is quite a problem considering the intercontinental line. It's not exactly first class ;), for example Facebook also has European data centers, so it's fine. Apple should perhaps consider expanding to Europe with data centers, a small one would be enough if it uploaded a duplicate of the content of iTunes Stores, AppStores, etc., so that all today's very slow communications (especially from our point of view) would be significantly faster, even downloading applications itself is sometimes brutus, it's because it's all flown from the US, and moreover from fairly tightly loaded data centers. On the other hand, it's fantastic when one imagines how many millions or even billions of KM Mountain Lion will travel in a few hours ;) he will become, I would say, the fastest cat in the world....
are you sure about this? It seems to me that the App Store suddenly runs much better... even in iTunes. As if Apple somehow strengthened it. Everything starts up as if it didn't even start from the net... there is a micro-delay there... most likely the peak preparation...
btw: anyway, the way you write is awesome with these data and I'm looking forward to some statistics :o)
around 19 p.m....like it was last year...but I suspect it will be crowded...then everyone who has 10.7 will want to get rid of it. 10.8 is somewhere else entirely :o)
it's always an improved lion only...
seems to be lying...it runs like 10.6...10.8 is a really fast system.
Mainly, logging in to iTunes stopped working. So something is happening with iTunes too??? What is he going to do????
What is the truth about the fact that all computers or laptops from Apple, purchased after WWDC, i.e. after June 11, 2012, will have a free update to Mountain Lion?
The OS X Mountain Lion Up-to-Date upgrade will be available at no additional charge from the Mac App Store to all customers who purchase a qualifying new Mac system from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller on or after June 11, 2012. Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac between June 11, 2012 and the date when Mountain Lion is available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from the date Mountain Lion becomes available to make their Up-To-Date request. Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac after Mountain Lion becomes available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from the date they purchase their Mac to make their Up-To-Date request. When Mountain Lion becomes available in July, come back to this page to request your copy of Mountain Lion .
Same as last year. I also bought an iMac before Lion came out and then applied for Lion for free and got it.
How did you apply for it? Wasn't it a free download in the APPstore? Can you please describe the procedure? I bought it on 18.6, i.e. on time.
So there it is!
15.99 and of course overloaded.
yes, I hope that when he writes try again later, that he doesn't accidentally tear off his hair. I clicked about 10 times :-D
jojo, I hope so too, about 50 times already
I think no dream. it's already 6 o'clock in the morning in California and the day is starting, so it's going to be a blast. The Europeans will probably get to tomorrow
so far you are right, but I will naively keep trying,,,
I don't know about you, but it attracts me nicely... I have it in two shots...
