The Cupertino giant listened to the pleas of apple users and came to the market with an affordable Mac mini that brings with it professional performance. He literally hit the nail on the head, which is already proven by the positive reactions of apple growers all over the world. While the basic model with the M2 can be considered a natural evolution, the configuration with the M2 Pro chip is a significant step forward that Apple fans have been waiting for for a long time.

The device can be configured with up to a 12-core CPU, up to a 19-core GPU, and up to 32 GB of unified memory with a throughput of 200 GB/s (only 2 GB/s for the M100 chip). It is the performance of the M2 Pro chip from Mac that makes it the perfect device for demanding operations, especially for working with video, programming, (3D) graphics, music and much more. Thanks to the media engine, it can also handle many 4K and 8K ProRes video streams in Final Cut Pro, or with color grading in incredible 8K resolution in DaVinci Resolve.
Basic price, professional performance
As we mentioned above, the new Mac mini with the M2 Pro absolutely dominates considering its price. In terms of price/performance ratio, the device simply has no competition. This configuration is available from CZK 37. If, on the other hand, you were interested in the M990 2" MacBook Pro or M13 MacBook Air, you will pay almost exactly the same for them - with the only difference being that you will not get professional, but only basic performance. These models start at CZK 2 and CZK 38, respectively. The cheapest device with the professional M990 Pro chipset is the basic 36" MacBook Pro, the price of which starts at CZK 990. From this, it is already clear at first glance what the device can offer and how its price comparison is with others.

This is something that has been missing from the apple menu until now. Almost since the arrival of the first professional chips, fans have been calling for a new Mac mini, which would be based on these very rules - for little money, a lot of music. Instead, Apple has until now sold a "high-end" Mac mini with an Intel processor. Fortunately, that has already rung and has been replaced by the configuration with the M2 Pro chip. This model thus practically immediately became the most affordable professional Mac ever. If we add to this other benefits resulting from the use of Apple Silicon, i.e. fast SSD storage, a high level of security and low energy consumption, we get a first-class device whose competition we would hardly find.
On the other hand, you may ask yourself, how is it possible that even with the M2 Pro chip, the new Mac mini is so cheap? In this case, everything stems from the device itself. The Mac mini has long been the gateway to the world of Apple computers. This model is based on sufficient performance hidden in a small body. It is also necessary to take into account that this is a desktop. Unlike all-in-one iMacs or MacBooks, it does not have its own display, which makes its costs significantly lower. All you have to do is connect a keyboard and mouse/trackpad, a monitor to it and you can start working straight away.
