The arrival of a new MacBook Air (or at least its conceptual successor) has been rumored for a long time. However, the first more specific information appeared only this year, and so far everything indicated that we will see this news in a month and a half, at the WWDC conference. However, the Digitimes server came out with information today that the production of the new low-cost MacBook is being pushed back by at least a quarter, and the summer presentation will most likely not take place. The information comes from the circle of suppliers and should have a real basis.

Originally, it was expected that mass production of the new product would begin sometime during the second quarter of this year, i.e. in the period from April to June. However, according to foreign sources, Apple has informed its suppliers and partners that production will be delayed for an unspecified time and for an unspecified reason. The only concrete information is that production will start in the second half of the year at the earliest.

If a change of plans occurs this shortly before the original planned start of production, it is usually due to some critical error discovered at the last minute. Either in the design of the device as such, or in connection with one of the components. Suppliers and subcontractors, who counted on certain orders in specific volumes, are losing the most from this postponement, and these are now being pushed back by at least a few months.

If the above information is true and the new 'cheap' MacBook will only be produced in the second half of the year, the presentation will then logically move to the autumn keynote, which Apple devotes mainly to the new iPhones. However, if new MacBooks arrive this year along with the new iPhones (which should be three), many fans will certainly not complain. Especially when the successor to the Air model was supposed to be here for at least two years.
