Apple's  TV+ platform has expanded quite significantly in recent years. Apple bets on new content that simply works for users, which is especially the case with the Ted Lasso series. Last year, the giant even got bogged down in the field of sports. In particular, he signed contracts with Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer organizations, thanks to which fans of these sports can view the matches so-called live, that is, without any other unnecessary services. And it looks like Apple is going to expand it a bit more.

Quite interesting speculations are currently starting to spread that Apple is going to buy the rights to broadcast the English first football league, the Premier League. With this move, the giant could theoretically improve itself immensely and attract many more viewers to its platform. Theoretically, it could also be linked to already available content. An interesting question therefore arises. Does the purchase of Premier League broadcast rights have enough potential to attract more new subscribers to  TV+?

Flash forward to better times?

The English Premier League enjoys incredible popularity practically all over the world. As such, we can perceive football as one of the most widespread and popular sports of all time. That is why literally the whole world is interested in the results of the Premier League, at least, as it is the most prestigious competition in the world that takes place in the British Isles. We would mostly find the best clubs and players right here. It is therefore not surprising that current speculation opens the already mentioned idea that with the arrival of the Premier League on  TV+, the platform will see a significant shift forward.

It is precisely from the overall popularity of this English league that the thesis about whether the Apple service will not receive an onslaught of new subscribers stems from this. However, it is necessary to approach something like this with a grain of salt. As we mentioned above, the Premier League enjoys worldwide popularity, and anyone interested in watching these sports broadcasts has long been watching them or subscribing to other services, which in the vast majority of cases also bring other sports content with them. Apple, on the other hand, could benefit from being generally close to football with its streaming platform.

As we indicated in the paragraph above, Apple is quite close to football. Undoubtedly, the most popular series from the studios of the Cupertino giant is Ted Lasso. Specifically, it is a funny comedy in which an American football coach throws himself into training a football team. As this is the most popular creation, we can somehow expect that among the subscribers we will find a lot of football fans who would welcome such a novelty in the form of sports broadcasts from the Premier League with all ten. But whether the possible change will be so fundamental that it will raise the entire platform to a new level is speculative.

At the same time, it is necessary to take into account that nothing has been agreed yet. In the final, Apple may not get the necessary rights for the Premier League at all. Various speculations and leaks are currently appearing. But as you know very well, these reports do not necessarily turn out to be true. On the other hand, the truth is that it certainly wouldn't hurt.
