Designer Marc Newson, who is now also an Apple employee, was recently interviewed by design and architecture magazine Dezeen, and much of the talk was about the new home tap Newson designed for Heineken, which recently went on sale. However, a few sentences were also dedicated to Apple.

Heineken has big plans for its domestic taproom. The company owns more than 250 beer brands, and a large number of them are to be sold for this new product as well. A container called a Torp with a capacity of two liters is inserted into the tap. The advantage of this solution is the possibility to tap any quantity, and most importantly - tap is the best.

Marc Newson: For example, my wife, who likes beer, never drinks a whole bottle or can. Half will stay, get warm, and eventually get thrown out anyway. Now anyone can have any amount of beer. You can have just a small glass or just a tumbler.

As for working at Apple, Newson confirmed that he is partially employed by Apple for unspecified projects. However, he spends most of his time in Great Britain, where he works on his company's projects.

Amy Frearson: You've been given a fairly crucial role at Apple. Do you think you will still have enough time to devote to projects like this?
Marc Newson: Of course, because my role at Apple doesn't necessarily require all of my time, and there are reasons for that. My company still exists and I continue to live in the UK.

When asked about his role in the design of the Apple Watch, which is due to hit the market early next year, Newson did not want to answer specifically. However, according to him, his tenure at Apple is only at the very beginning.

Amy Frearson: Can you tell me if you were involved in the development of the Apple Watch?
Marc Newson: Obviously I can't.
PR lady: Sorry, we cannot answer this.
Amy Frearson: Maybe I could ask you another question. With your experience in watch design, can you tell me your opinion on the future of classic watches?
Marc Newson: Mechanical watches will always have their place. Apart from showing the time - which everyone can do - their essence lies in something completely different. I think that the market for mechanical watches will exist here basically the same as before. To be honest, I don't have much of a clue about what's going on in the world of mechanical watches right now.

However, Newson and Apple are not the only connection of the year. For example, in 2013, together with Jony Ive, he organized an auction of products (RED), which grossed $13 million. Among the most famous subjects were red Mac Pro, gold EarPod headphones or camera Leica.
