Apple introduced macOS 13 Ventura. The macOS operating system generally plays an important role in our lives and helps us be more productive, while also offering a number of great features and gadgets. So it's no wonder that it's one of Apple's most popular systems. This year, Apple is focusing on even more system-wide improvements, with a strong emphasis on overall continuity.

New features

One of the major new features for macOS 13 Ventura is the Stage Manager feature, which aims to support user productivity and creativity. Stage Manager is specifically a window manager that will help with better management and organization, grouping and the ability to create multiple workspaces. At the same time, it will be very easy to open it from the control center. In practice, it works quite simply - all windows are grouped into groups, while the active window remains on top. Stage Manager also offers the possibility of quickly revealing items on the desktop, moving content with the help of drag & drop, and overall will support the aforementioned productivity.

Apple also shined a light on Spotlight this year. It will receive a major improvement and offer significantly more functions, as well as support for Quick Look, Live Text and shortcuts. At the same time, Spotlight will serve to better obtain information about music, movies and sports. This news will also arrive in iOS and iPadOS.

The native Mail application will see further changes. Mail has been criticized for a long time for the absence of some essential functions that have been a matter of course for competing clients for years. Specifically, we can look forward to the possibility of canceling sending, scheduling sending, suggestions for monitoring important messages or reminders. So will better search. This is how Mail will once again improve on iOS and iPadOS. One of the most important components of macOS is also the native Safari browser. That's why Apple brings features for sharing groups of cards and the ability to chat/FaceTime with the group of users you share the group with.

Security and privacy

The basic pillar of apple operating systems is their security and emphasis on privacy. Of course, macOS 13 Ventura will not be an exception to this, which is why Apple is introducing a new feature called Passkeys with Touch/Face ID support. In this case, a unique code will be assigned after creating a password, which makes the records resistant to phishing. The feature will be available on the web and in apps. Apple also mentioned its clear vision. He would like to see Passkeys replace normal passwords and thus take the overall security to another level.

Gaming

Gaming doesn't go well with macOS. We've known this for several years, and for now it looks like we probably won't see any major changes. That's why today Apple presented us with improvements to the Metal 3 graphics API, which should speed up loading and generally offer even better performance. During the presentation, the Cupertino giant also showed a brand new game for macOS - Resident Evil Village - which uses the aforementioned graphics API and runs wonderfully on Apple computers!

Ecosystem connectivity

Apple products and systems are very well known for one essential feature – together they form a perfect ecosystem that is perfectly interconnected. And that's exactly what's being leveled up now. If you have a call on your iPhone and you approach your Mac with it, a notification will automatically appear on your computer and you can move the call to the device where you want to have it. An interesting novelty is also the possibility to use the iPhone as a webcam. Just attach it to your Mac and you're done. Everything is of course wireless, and thanks to the quality of the iPhone camera, you can look forward to a perfect picture. Portrait mode, Studio Light (brightening the face, darkening the background), the use of an ultra-wide-angle camera are also related to this.
