Adam Kos AirPods Max are an appropriately controversial product from Apple. This is due not only to their price, but also to a certain extent to their appearance, which, after all, differs considerably from the design of the headphones of all captured companies. However, Apple could bring their cheaper or straight second generation. But what could she do?
AirPods Max Sport
The current first generation of AirPods Max costs CZK 16 in the Apple Online Store. However, you can get these headphones much cheaper across Czech e-shops. The Sport model, which was quite hot for a while, could also be cheaper speculated. Its fundamental change, and also a benefit, would be the use of other materials, when, of course, heavy aluminum would logically be replaced by lighter plastic.
Thanks to this, these headphones could be intended for sports for all those who are not comfortable with ear buds or plugs and do not want to be deprived of quality listening to their favorite music during their activities. Supposedly the cheaper AirPods Max could cost $349, which is $200 less than what the current generation costs in the US. Converted, they could come out to something around 10 CZK.
Functionality should also be reduced. An unnecessarily complex control crown would not have to be present, but only the pressure sensors known from AirPods Pro. The earphones could be shortened with regard to durability and the case. However, active noise suppression, permeability mode, adaptive equalization, surround sound and Hi-Fi sound should not be missing.

The other way Apple could go would be to introduce the second generation of AirPods Max, logically making the first one cheaper. The 2nd generation could thus receive the same price tag, the first one could then fall on the one we mention for the "Sport" model. If Apple was really working on a cheaper model, it could introduce it as early as next year. But with the 2nd generation, it is much worse.

Unlike iPhones and iPads, which are updated every year, Apple tends to take its time with the new generation of its AirPods. While there are no previous AirPods Max models, we can estimate when to expect their 2nd generation based on the release cycle of the standard AirPods. The first-generation AirPods were released in December 2016 and were followed in March 2019 by the second-generation AirPods, which boast improved features and wireless charging. And now we have the 3rd generation AirPods, which Apple introduced in October 2021. This formula indicates a roughly two and a half year refresh cycle for these standard Apple headphones. If we apply this logic to the AirPods Max, it is unlikely that we will see their second generation before March 2023. However, they appear news, that we could expect new colors already in the spring.

And what should the second generation be able to do in addition? Most often, there is speculation about the redesign of their smart case - mainly because it is not completely suitable for protecting the headphones from damage. Due to the advanced year of introduction, we can also expect the Lightning connector to be replaced by USB-C. Considering the size, support for MagSafe could easily come. In order to satisfy all really demanding users, Apple should also implement a 3,5 mm jack connector for listening to lossless music.
